Krave Eatery & Dessert Shop — Restaurant in Centerville

Kept seeing it pop up in my Facebook feed so I decided to try it out. Ample parking for the location. The workers are extremely nice and friendly. The service is really, really slow. I don't know if I went on a popular day or what but I had to wait in line over 1 hour. Tried to call in my order but was told they didn't do that. Decent seating inside. I ordered 2 plates to try the food out. I got the oxtails with Mac n cheese and collard greens and then the turkey wings with cabbage, cornbread stuffing and sweet potato souffle. I got the banana pudding dessert too. For the price you pay ($16 for turkey wing plate and $22 for the oxtail plate) I expected better tasting food. They provide generous portions though. Being that I'm Jamaican, the oxtails were subpar to me - no spice or flavor. Tasted more like beef stew than oxtails. I didn't care for the sweet potato souffle either - thick texture and it had nuts in it. Otherwise the other items were ok. Nothing I was crazy about. The stuffing was the best item to me. And the banana pudding. It was really good. If you do plan to go - I would recommend calling or checking their FB page first because the days of operation may vary and they seem to be open limited hours (around lunch time). Called the restaurant for Oxtails and they told me they doubled up today, so I head up to the restaurant, stood in line for 20-25 mins, the lady in front of me went up to ask them if they still had any oxtails and they tell her they sold out. I mean a little common curiosity to tell everybody waiting in line for oxtails they sold out!!!! Fact: I work down the street from Krave and when we're too late for lunch or everything is sold out, we put together a solid game plan to make sure we don't miss out again. David and his crew are some of nicest people, hands down, and they know what they're doing. You should make it a personal goal to swing by and see them sometime for lunch. You won't regret it. I promise. Their menu switch up is what dreams are made of and their sweets are the cool side of the pillow.
