Mamma Mia Italian Bistro — Restaurant in Centreville

I just want to start off saying that i love the food here. It is great proportions, very delicious items, unique appetizers and i truly love it. But my problem that lies with my sad 2 stars is the staff. Tonight was the 2nd night ive been in that the waitress has been off putting, rude, and rushing. The last go round, i was told they had no ice tea, an the dinning area was closed 45 minutes before the door stated it should of been. This uspets me because high tops kill my legs and a comfy booth is all i wanted after a long day of work. But this second visit, today has really sadden me. The waitress was ridiculous. She served mushrooms with a order that specifically asked for no mushrooms thankfully he was not allergic, she didnt give us any time between appetizers and the entree, she never refiled our waters, she rushed to give us boxes only 5 minutes after we received our food, didnt give us bread til prompted, didnt open and pour the wine, or offer too. She took the dessert menu after one of us said we didnt get the chance to see it, and just rushed every aspect of our meal. They had a whole hour before close. Usually, my other half and i are well tipping, very easy going customers. We work in the food industry and respect others who do to. But i hate feeling overwhelmed by a server, because shes ready to go home or she wants to leave early.. I believe there is quite a few wonderful servers there, we just seem to get the bad apples. An i pray that those bad apples dont ruin the fine food this...

The food here is very fast and their menu is diverse. You have all the classic Italian items and many other things to choose from that take care of different preferences. Subs, burgers and more. I did not try the Ahi Tuna salad but it may be on my plate next time

Everything was clean. Everyone was very nice to us as we arrived very late in the evening looking for dinner. I enjoyed it and will come back.

Now, a few things to know. The bar area is very busy and while we walked in, it was also loud. We asked for a seat in the dining room away from the noise and it was much better. Also, service for us was slow. We sat down and eventually the hostess came back and brought us drinks. We must have had “that look” because more than one server told us our server was arriving at any moment to help us. She didn’t.

Eventually the hostess returned and was about to get our order goi g when the server showed. Food was fast after that, but then wait for the check. I would have been ok with the pace, but I noticed the server chatting for about 5 minutes with a table she must have been very familiar with. Please don’t chit chat at my expense. I get that they were closing and things are winding down for the night, but we want to go home too.

The place was still rocking at the bar as we left about 9:30.

Tonight, we had dinner and were waited on by Alina. We ordered a Greek salad to share and an entree each. Our salad seemed to take a little longer than usual, but then it came out with our entrees. The food runner apologized and offered to take the salad back, but we decided to keep it. When the server finally checked back, I mentioned that we were expecting to get our salad first, but there was nothing we could do about that at the moment. She just walked away and didn't apologize for the oversight. Any server knows that there's an order to a meal. The last time we were here, our appetizer came out with our entrees, though i don't remember who waited on us.  It's possible that we were her last table of the night and she wanted to go home, though it was only around 7 p.m. on a Saturday. Maybe she wasn't in a rush to go home, since she was outside having a cigarette when we left. It would've been good for us to speak to a manager, but I don't think we've seen one the dozen or so times we've been here.  When I was a server, if something wasn't right, I'd make it right or reach out to a manager. Suffice it to say, Mamma Mia is off our list. It's a shame, because the food is...
