The atmosphere was great as usual. My man George the owner always knows how to set the mood for his customers. Iāve been going to Fyre Hookah Lounge in Queen Creek for over 2 years now, and never experienced bad service like I did the other day. The vibe used to be good, the workers used to be chill, and the place used to be laid back. With that being said all I could ask myself is what happened ? Come to find out itās not the company, itās the new management. Again Iāve been going to the Queen Creek location for a while and Iāve never had any issues. Then when I decided to go to the 24 Hour location in Chandler, all of that changed all of a sudden. The new manager who claims to have been working with Fyre Hookah for 8 years immediately came off as being racist. He discriminated against me and my group of friends. I know the policy of Fyre Hookah because I still go there till this very day, and had been explained to it multiple times on a positive note. Which means I know that you canāt just walk in and sit down playing video games without purchasing a hookah. But new management kept throwing the policy out in our face as if we werenāt willing to pay. Every 2 heads requires 1 hookah to be purchased , we came in 10 deep. Which means we wouldāve had to have purchased 5 hookahās. With that being said keep in mind that 2 of them were already purchased, but new management kept saying that we had to purchase 5 more of them. 6 of us were wanting to pay for hookah but new management kept arguing and urging us to pay for 5 more in order for us to stay. We finally were able to get it through to him that the math he was doing was incorrect, so we agreed that we only needed to pay for 3 more hookahās. Then a friend of mine came back in to grab his phone that he forgot to take with him before his Uber driver left. Afterwards we got told by management āyou guys keep coming in and out, back and forth. So Iām just gonna. charge you for the 5 hookahās if you wanna stay. If you donāt wanna pay then Iām gonna have to ask you to leave ā. We got told that he was refusing our services even when I tried to pay on multiple occasions and he told us to leave. So we left and went next door to grab some food before we took off. After we ate we were talking for a bit. 25-35 minutes later the manager for Fyre Hookah comes outside and asks us if we could leave from the sidewalk. Mind you weāre all just waiting for our Ubers. He then tells us to leave or heās gonna call the cops. Weāre not threatening no one , weāre not harming no one, weāre just simply waiting for our Ubers. Then the cops come. We explained everything to the cops and they seemed more reasonable and understanding than the manager who called the police for no apparent reason. When our Uber came the cop said one last thing and that was āTheyāre just asking for you guys not to come backā. I just donāt know if I ever will at this point. Iām still shocked. The cops were shocked too, even they seemed surprised and yet irritated to be called for such an unnecessary reason
Very long story, but itās the truth. Itās not Fyre Hookah that I have an issue with. The atmosphere will always be something I love about this place. Itās the new management. My friends and family were just trying to have a good time, we never anticipated that something like this would happen especially since I was trying to show them a good time. That manager has horrible...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going there for over a decade. I came in tonight with my mother and had to leave for a bit to help a friend in an emergency situation. I told the manager I would be leaving and just to let him know I would be back, I'm usually there for 4-5 hours. i left my mother there to go help intending to be gone less than an hour (she had her own money so it wasn't a she can't pay problem) and they threatened to call the cops on me for abandoning her there because according to them she wasn't allowed to be there without a caregiver because she had a wheelchair saying it was their right to refuse service to anyone when I said it felt like they were discriminating against her he blew up at me for even using the word discrimination, when I said it sounded like they were forcing her to have a second person and thus pay more because she would need a third person if someone else needed to be with her for me to leave, and they doubled down threatening me with cops because she's not allowed in the hookah lounge without someone else taking care of her. But yeah the "right to refuse service". (edit when I was asked if I was her caregiver I did not deny it but I a also told them in no uncertain terms that she did not need a caregiver and she could be there alone and that they didn't need to give her any special attention and that she could be alone when I left without his permission he called me on my cell phone and threatened police on me. She was not allowed there because he was uncomfortable having a disabled person in his business without someone there to legally take care of them. She had to leave because they threatened her family to come pick her up all because according to him "if she didn't come in on her own volition" because we decided to bring the wheelchair incase she needed it later in the evening then she wasn't allowed to be there without me.) (2nd edit: I was not asked to come back and take care of my her. "I'm calling the police on you for abandoning her here" were I believe your exact words on the phone when I had been gone less than five minutes and she didn't need anyone there to take care of her which I had told you. She has never felt so unwanted and discriminated against because of you.) (Edit) I did not ask the employee to do anything other than "just let her order anything she wants i'll be back in half an hour" and when I left I got a phone call threatening police action where you belittled and spoke down at me because I was looking out for my mother when you were saying that in your exact words "since she didn't come in of her own power (since I pushed her) she can't stay without someone to take care of her" so no don't lie in saying you didn't do anything wrong. She cried on our way home because I was honest with her and told her what you said and she had never been treated like that before and she doesn't want to come back and...
