Unfortunately, for our first time try both the food and service were lacking. For the price they charge their food portion should be average but it was small. My Philadelphia roll was barely covered with rice, you can see the seaweed wrap (never before in my sushi loving life have I seen such a sad roll), and I tasted more cream cheese than anything else. As for the service their staff needs more training. We had empty plates on the side of the table, both waitresses (on separate occasions) asked if they could clear the empty plates but wanted us to hand the plates to them even though they were standing right next to us with empty hands. So both waitresses interrupted our meal so we could clear the table for them. When we asked one of the waitresses for our check she said okay but never came back, we could see her standing next to the sushi bar and even made eye contact with us. We weren’t sure what was taking so long, it was not busy and there were only 2 other couples and one table of 3 in the restaurant. The other waitress came and asked us if we were done and when we asked for the check she left and came back with it in less than a minute. The restaurant itself looks nice and clean and has great reviews. It’s such a shame this place didn’t...
Read moreThis place is very personal and provides an atmosphere of fine dining. Not only that, but this place is family oriented; I enjoyed a meal with my husband and our five year old daughter. -- I'd like to mention that there are vegetarian options, as we are a whole food plant-based family. -- The quality of the food is great, and the price isn't overtly expensive by far. --We ate 2 orders of vegetable rolls, one order of asparagus rolls, and vegetable tempora with red tempora sauce for under $40; not to mention the three beverages. -- If you're looking for a quick meal in a restaurant style institution, look no further. -- as soon as we order our beverages (hot green tea, iced green tea, and a lemonade), they were on our table under 5 minutes. -- Our dish was served very shortly after. -- The staff greeted each of us, and the gentlemen, serving us carried the most ethical leadership and attentiveness I could have asked for without being overbearing during our meal. -- Yama Sushi House is very clean with deor that breeds ambiance. -- We appreciate good business and were happy to...
Read moreWent in with high expectations because of the reviews, and sad to say it was disappointing. Our server, Tina seemed nice, but she made a comment that really rubbed us the wrong way. When we were ordering, we had ordered the love boat and when my bf said that’s all, she thought we were ordering more food and she made a comment saying “no, I think that is all for you” I understand she may have meant it as ‘the love boat has a good amount of food” but it came off as ‘you’re eating too much’ and we did NOT like that. Most of the things on the love boat was good, except I found a couple scales in my sashimi and honestly the salmon sashimi and tuna nigiri did not seem fresh. It was pretty bad quality for the price you have to pay. We also got an order of Takoyaki and big mistake because the center of it was VERY cold. We didn’t send it back because of the comment our server made and we didn’t want to deal with her again. Overall we won’t be coming back, because if we are going to spend $100 there are plenty of other sushi places around here to...
