After a stressful morning, I am sooo glad I got to go to Cafe 86 to destress. I can't believe I have never visited before.
The upside down Halo Halo is like a piece of art! The layers of red jello, green jello swimming in the classic ube purple are just perfect! The jackfruit is a pleasant surprise. To top it off, there was a scoop of ice cream with a piece of flan and some cornflakes on it. Wow, it literally gave me a "shut up and let me eat" moment!
The cheesecake is so moist!! The manager told me that it is award winning product. Who could have resisted? It was so yummy! Not too sweet at all! Well deserved on the award!!
I also purchased a pop tart for breakfast the following day. I reheated it in an air fryer for 2 minutes and it was perfect! If you ate there, they would have offered to heat it up for you.
Lastly, I asked if they had any dairy free options, and the answer is yes. They can substitute the milk to soy milk or almond milk. I will highly (and freely) recommend this place to my friends who are on...
Read moreQuaint and chill spot to get drinks and desserts. I've only been one time so far, and got a ube milk tea, both their halo halos, and the ube flan cupcake. The tea was very reasonably priced, only $4.99 for a large (without add ons). The upside down halo halo (ube based) was better than the halo halo (brown sugar based) in my opinion. Note that their halo halo is a little bit different than traditional halo halo in that it isn't milky. Both the flan and the ube cake in the ube flan cupcake are very well made and delicious. The place isn't very big, but still comfortable. I would definitely come back and try their other drinks and food. Highly recommend to try out at least once, especially if you like ube or if you're looking to explore...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place and today, we drove for an hour and finally taste what most of the reviews are raving about.. The pastries aren't that bad, nothing special about it other than of course they're ube inspired though my hubby who has the " sweet tooth " loves it. The halo halo is what I was dying to have. But I was very disappointed. It has the topper of ube ice cream and a small slice of Leche flan. The rest of the drink only has sago ( tapioca balls) and the nata de coco and just a few slices of langka) jackfruit. I was hoping I'll get some beans , kaong ( palm fruit). It was lacking most of the ingredients. Maybe, for the price of almost $10 for a drink...I don't think it...
