There were six of us in our group tonight and we had a wide variety of delicious eats. Started with an appetizer like nothing else. Cheeseburger fries. During the session, I thought that we could order three of those and nothing else except drinks. Six of us polished them off, and I could have been done almost at that point, but we ordered main courses. To be honest, I didn't pay too much attention to what everyone else had. Definitely burgers in a variety of builds. One person had no bun, and upon reflection, I should have done the same. I had the Roadhouse chili cheeseburger without the onions. They would have just been raw on top. Had they been grilled, I might have had them. I didn't think about how spicy the chili might have been, but it entered my mind with the first bite. Admittedly, I am sensitive to spice in food. Jalapeños are not for me. Not saying that they were part of the recipe, just a hint of how much I can't deal with spicy food. Well, when I had my first bite I expected to suffer. SURPRISE! I had no discomfort with the chili. It was perfectly seasoned for me, right on the borderline of too hot for my taste, making it pleasant and delicious. Sometimes chili burgers are lost in the chili and the burger is just filler. Not with CB&CB. The burger is outstanding in flavor and size. It's rated as a half pound and if it is, most places are a bit shy on portion control. Burgers were as big as the buns. More importantly, the flavor was top notch. I can't remember when I've had as good, and never better. There are a couple things I can't say about our visit, but fortune smiled on us this evening, so we saw to it that our server was well tipped. That makes CB&CB top rated for their treatment of us when they didn't have to. For the record, we have several places we go on Sunday evenings and we were looking at Cracker Barrel and Chili's for the options, but fortunately I was given the opportunity to chime in. Usually I don't have much to say, but Saturday the chance came and I said I had been thinking about CB&CB. The fact that I don't drink alcohol kind of makes my suggestion come from left field, but even though I don't have any desire for the first half, I really enjoy the second. Next Sunday may be a different location, but I'm going to suggest a repeat visit to help the restaurant recoup from tonight, if we even go out during the holiday weekend. As for anyone reading this, give CB&CB a try if you haven't. It might replace your current "go to" restaurant. Part of the reason it isn't a regular spot for me is location. The location closest to me is in an unfortunate place as far as I'm concerned. They seem busy when I drive past, but I have to have a large parking area for my truck. It's the smaller one of two, but it's still mighty big for the space available. The location we go to has better parking as far as I'm concerned but it's a bit of distance. Can't have everything...
Read moreI am not picky and I do come from the restaurant industry so I understand when things are busy you have to be patient with your waiter/waitress. With that being said this is my thoughts on CBC in Chandler. I come here often (3 times a month) and I will continue to come here. I enjoy the food and there are tons of TV's so if you like sports like I do chances are you will find the certain game you are looking for on one of the TV's or at least be entertained while you are enjoying your meal. I have never been treated rudely by any of the waitresses, yes some seem like they do not want to be there but hey we have all had one of those days so I brush it off. I will say that you have about a 50/50 chance to receive good service here. Good service being... aware of needing refills and/or needing another beer; listening to you when you are ordering your meal and bringing what you asked for; and doing all this with a smile. My party and I have sat with empty glasses for up to 10 minutes at a time before while our waitress would be talking to one of the bar backs or bus guys. We have asked for a side of certain type of sauce for our burger while placing an order and do not receive it with the order. We would then ask for it again when our food arrives and would take upwards of 5 minutes for it. Which doesn't seem long, but when it is for your burger and your burger is getting cold while you wait for it, that kind of sucks. I do like the food so I will continue to come here and I will also continue to tip well, but I just wish they would take a look at their service to improve...
Read moreNormally the food is exceptional and honestly so is the service. I also usually don’t go out of my ways to return food at restaurants considering I’ve worked as a server. However, stating that the food was subpar would actually be a compliment. Both my fiancé and I were initially served fries so old that in fact they were not only cold, but soggy. Like the equivalent of microwaving day old fries. Gross, but not the end of the world. We simply smiled and asked for fresh ones. However the reason that I actually bother to write the review is because at any given point in time there were 6 workers just standing around chatting and the manager joining in on the fun, despite the restaurant clearly being busy due to a football game playing and due to the fact that the cook must have been swamped. I imagine that’s the reason why not only my fries were old, buuuuut I was served a well done burger when I asked for medium rare. The burger was so overdone that I simply removed the patty and ate the bread and condiments. In the end I simply smiled and waited for the server to ask me how the food was or even the manager who was standing two booths away, yet no one asked.. which is why I’m writing this review. You guys should try checking on the cook and work on getting back to the once amazing burgers. Hopefully this was simply a off night.
