I want to first say I was extremely excited to check out the restaurant because I have been wanting to go for over a year. I contacted the restaurant prior to me driving there to confirm if they had a patio and if they were dog friendly. I explained I had two pups and one of them I carry and sleeps on my lap because he is a new puppy but the other one is a small older Yorkie. They told me it wouldn’t be a problem at all since they have the patio. I get there and as soon as I walked inside the restaurant I immediately walked to the patio. There was a family outside but they were finishing up. No waitress followed me out to make sure the table was clean or to take the chairs off the table (there was only one table with chairs off and it was the family sitting at it). A woman then comes out after I had been sitting down for about 5 minutes with a menu and took the chairs down from my table, but with no washcloth to clean the dirty table. TV e male waiter wasn’t any better, not a customer friendly person and barely spoke. I was then told by the woman waiter that a table inside complained about my dog and then she decided to tell me about a health code visit. So at this point I was agitated and didn’t want to cause a scene because I wasn’t able to even eat my food, because WHO from the inside would complain about me sitting on the dog friendly patio all by myself since the other table had already left (might I add, I was the only minority in the restaurant and had gotten horrible stares from the time I walked inside. So I politely asked for a box, boxed my food up, paid my bill and left. I would like to hope that is not the experience and service your business typically gives because it was an horrible experience for me!...
Read moreMy dad and I went for the first time on a Sunday before I was flying back to Chicago.
I decided to try and find this place because my dad loves planes and breakfast.
At first I was not sure where to go. Luckily there was a sign to go past the hangers and down a street that looked like you would go on the tarmac if it was gated. In the back you’ll find the restaurant.
I dropped my dad off because parking is limited and his walking is not the best (it was his 80th birthday!). We waited about 15-20min for a table.
The speaker outside is a bit hard to understand, but I just kept watch on who was there before us and see when they went in to know we were next.
We were sat at the counter, which was nice because the table La seemed to be crowded together. We shared the cinnamon roll with the frosting on the side and each got the Dutch Fry to eat. It was so much food we both only ate half. Luckily my dad is the type of guy who can eat things for days because putting our plates into one to-go box gave him 2-3 more days of breakfast.
The Dutch Fry is Hangar’s fave! It comes with Country Fried Potatoes mixed with 3 scrambled eggs, onions, green peppers, then topped with cheddar and jack cheese. You can then a tortilla or toast (white, wheat, sourdough). Add Bacon (which we both did) or ham or sausage for an add on price.
Overall I would go here for breakfast over a lot of places. I enjoyed the waitress and the rest of the staff were polite. They work hard on getting your food in a timely manner and make sure it’s cooked...
Read moreMy wife and I went here for the first time on a Sunday morning about a half hour after they opened. It wasn't too crowded, but it seemed to fill up as it got closer to 8am. It's a quaint restaurant with not a whole lot of seating inside, but there is an outside covered patio overlooking the tarmac. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and invited to seat anywhere we wanted. The waitress came by right away and took our drink orders. I got a coffee and my wife got a mimosa. The coffee was pretty decent and my wife's mimosa was served as a cup of orange juice and a small bottle of champagne. We thought that was great instead of a flute of OJ and a splash of champagne that so many other places serve.
I ordered the Meat Lover Omelette and my wife ordered the Hangar Burrito. The burrito was HUGE. So big that my wife couldn't finish it. It was very soft and the chicken fried steak was tender. My omelette was also very large and full of meat. The hash browns were cooked crispy as I asked and came out perfect. The side of toast was also very fresh and buttery, not dry and hard like I so often get at other places. Our waitress was very friendly and an attentive and we never had to wait on more coffee. We'll definitely...
