As a recent fellow graduate of this University with Cum Laude Honors (2016), I find this college very unprofessional, unorganized and very rude to students whom have transition and gone on to further their education and career at colleges near them. As a retired veteran, I have not been given the run around when I go to retirement services and request documents from 2016 when I retired the way I have been given the run around with this college. I have not ever been rudely emailed or spoken to from anyone from Troy University a University I graduated from in 2006, when I requested documents from professors & academic advisors the way I have been rudely belittled from this University and Professor. 90% of this University enrollment is Soldiers & Retired Veterans and for a Professor to say (SHE CANNOT DO AN ACADEMIC LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION BECAUSE SHE HAS NEVER WORKED WITH YOU, LET ALONE REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE... IS A PROBLEM) I understand the remember part, however, when a student sends you their work and all your classes has been DST at that University, that poses an issue. I recommend to any student if you are currently enrolled, please find a more reputable college to enroll in. TRIDENT UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL, student success ALYSSA nor its professors especially DR. Benson does not give out academic letters of recommendations to any student that has taken any DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES. I am a proven testimony even after sending my student number, submissions of all assignments, I was still told find a professor I physically worked with on a personal basis and get a letter from them. This University is a scam and if I known this, I would have used my tuition assistance money and went to a college that has real academic advisors for those such things like Troy, University of Maryland, Central Texas College, University of Fayetteville State and so on. Utilize the colleges on your Installations is you are a Soldiers. This is my advice for any SOLDIERS currently enrolled and any SOLDIERS thinking of enrolling or going back to this college to finish up, stop find another college... you will regret it in the long run. As a retired Senior Leader, it is still my obligation and duty to protect and get the word out on my current experience. My fight is not yet, done. I will get into the college I am seeking to get into with or without my Letter from Trident, but right now I thought receiving Cum Laude Honors for all my hard from that college was the best accomplishment ever, when what it was and is my biggest nightmare and mistake of ever going to that college. This college, I highly and extremely recommend should not be listed for any Soldier to attend and Veteran Affairs Officials need to relook and remove this University. A past disappointed...
Read moreI'm currently halfway through my Bachelor's program in Health Sciences with a concentration in Public Health and certification in Health Education. I'm not sure why other students had issues getting in contact with any faculty or staff members; maybe it depends on the program? I had an advisor talk to me on the phone about the specifics of the program I wanted. She also sent me everything I needed via email to apply for Trident and also apply for financial aid and she enrolled me in my first 2 courses per my request. I now have an academic advisor that is specifically for health sciences I believe, and whenever I email her with a question, she almost always answers me back within a few hours.Whenever I email financial aid I get a respond back sometimes same day and always at least by the next business day. When I needed my name and email changed bc I got married, I was told what documents they needed and my name was changed within a few days, as well as a new discount added to my tuition because of being married to a veteran. Most of my professors have been good at replying in a timely manner as well. Some courses are more difficult than others and some professors grade more strict than others. I love Trident; everyone I've come in contact with has been sincere and helpful. I've recommended them many times!
PS. The graduation rate is so low because they cater mostly to military and their families and people get deployed or take a break when they get reassigned a...
Read moreRequested for a course extension for two courses, received notification of approval a week and a half past the course extensions last day for submission, and counselor enrolled automatically in a new session for two new courses, the two two courses were already a week into the session. Already I started behind, I advised my counselor Troy McKim that I wouldn't be able to focus on four courses via email and left phone message. I didn't receive a call back from him, or a response via email. I work full time and sometimes my hours aren't normal (8hrs, 8am-5pm)... They can be extended/ varied hours which makes it difficult to read and write on four course.
I take ownership of not being able to complete courses, and receiving the grade received, however; the school reps/ counsellors should take ownership and responsibility of knowing the load and amount of courses being taken by the student is overwhelming.
It is evident that this school is about funding vs. the success rate of completing each course at the minimum "satisfactory", and being successful and graduating.
Trident University International graduation rate is very low. Now I know why.
I would like to continue with Trident University and complete my degree but I am not given the opportunity with the circumstances I presented...
