Brothers In Laws BBQ — Restaurant in Channelview

Let me see....After a very trying day with my sister at some appointments we decided to meet my Brother in law for dinner here. It has been a while since we were there. We were unaware that ownership had changed. We went in and waited to be seated took a few....only saw one waitress. Figured there was probably another one in the back....our mistake. Finally got seated and noticed 3 people sitting in the corner on the other side of the room....one of them (the younger guy) sitting with an older woman and man got up and went to the register to take a pmt. from a customer picking up a to go order. Oh! He works here....wonder why he is NOT helping waitress as it is getting busy? So he sits and sits just chatting while the poor girl does all alone. We ordered and watched as our food was put up...ready to be served.....and it sat....and sat....and it sat!😡 Finally she goes and picks it up and brings it over....Looks good enough....Hmmmm...wait! It is Cold....of course....it sat there for about 15 min while the ONE! waitress tried doing everything and the guy....just hanging out talking. So we ask the girl....where is the manager? She points to the lazy guy in the corner and says he is the owners son....WOW! Wont even get up to help the one waitress out since it is....you know...SOOOOO BUSY! Well still he gets up a couple more times....brings the people he is sitting with food...sits...takes a pmt...sits...you get the picture. We sent food back and and got hot food back but it tasted like it had been cooked the day before and reheated. Ugggg! Ok....so we are now leaving after eating awful food and terrible service but we were starving....it had been a very long day. We get to the register and "guy" comes up...he is ringing us up. So I say....looking straight at him ..Worst food and worst service ever! He gets this shocked look and says "worst food and worst service?" I said yes! While the poor waitress is busting her chops trying to take care of Alll these people you just sit over in the corner hanging out and chatting away and don't offer to help! He says ..."you mean with my MOM?" Thats right people....Apparently it is more important for the OWNERS to sit over in the corner and visit and let ONE lone waitress try to take care of everyone all by her self...about 25 to 30 people at one time....maybe 35. His excuse....well we are short handed....we just lost 5 or 6 people. Well if that is the way you treat your employees I wouldn't want to work there either. Therefore....this restaurant gets O stars....Horrible food and Worst service ever by the Owners. Wow!!! I will never go again and definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was the best part of eating at this restaurant! Seeing a car with some bling on the way..... What happend? I know it's been a long while since I have eaten here. Many years ago you had to wait in line to eat here... I should have known better it was a sign when we were able to walk right in and be seated easily.... I am not sure if they broil, boil or leave the meat in the sun? The chicken 🐔 had a rubbery spoiled taste and texture. I had to pray hard that I could get that taste out of my mouth. Yes let me wash it down for a glass of Sugar with some tea. That works... Well the sausage, was so greasy that may have sat all day in the sun as well. It was not a fresh cooked grease if you know what I mean. (WINK, WINK) well okay surely you cannot mess up the sides right? Overcooked noodles in watered down cheese sauce, and poured pork and beans ( I think) nope well.... still hungry....sure yeah.... I will take a piece of pie, as my customers shamefully look at me like I am about to commit foodacide.. The "Pecan Pie" comes..... is this a Texas thing or maybe I am crazy but how in the HE double Hockey 🏒 Stick make a pecan pie with Pecan Skins is beyond me.... Well they accomplished this Bravo didn't know it could be done. Let's not get started on the emergency restroom stops on the way back to the office. If this is BBQ I’m never eating it again. Absolutely awful. Possibly the worst bbq I’ve ever had. It was bland AF. I mean zero flavor. Green beans were out of a can, fried okra was frozen before being cooked. Corn nuggets were meh. Service was almost non existent other than taking my order and bringing out food. Building is very very outdated and hot as hell inside. I would never recommend this place which is sad because it used to be good. As far as to their reply, I admit I typically only review places I dislike and I should do better with that. My critique is based on my experience from eating at your establishment in the past compared to now. I don’t know what has changed but it is dramatically different. The other thing I didn’t not mention is the location, it’s not in a very nice part of town. I was nervous to make park my car there in fear of it being stolen or broken into. I’ve eaten BBQ all over the country and I’m generally not displeased because there’s many different types of it but this was far from what it used to be.
