I got the sweet and sour chicken, I rate it 2 stars, the sweet and sour sauce was jelly like. And the chicken wasn’t good. Egg rolls are good, and the chicken fried rice is good. Sad because I want to support small businesses but it just wasn’t worth it.

Egg rolls were way overcooked and greasy. Found a sticker in the meal. Wouldn't even give our money back.

Ok I've given China Cafe a go 3 times. The first time was on New Year's Day and ordered sweet and sour pork with pork friend rice. Now, because it was a holiday I chalked up getting sweet and sour beef as a egit mistake because of the holiday. But it was over fried and no pork at all in the fried rice I actually had to doctor to taste like fried rice not rice with a bunch of soy sauce dumped on it. So I gave the s and s pork a try again with the same results. The last time I ordered Kung Pao chicken which is my favorite as the chicken is not breaded and includes onion amd pepper...and China Cafe's menu stated this so I ordered it. It's basically General Tsou's chicken with Kung Pao sauce no onions no green pepper but a lot of bamboo shoots. And the steamed rice I ordered with it...rice with a lot of soy sauce dumped on it. Look it's cheap food which is a plus for some, but even cheap prices aren't worth a fig if the food fails to actually be good. Save your pennies and go to Champaign for better...

When I first moved to Charleston, my new roommate told me about this place and how awful it was. She stated it was so bad she asked for her money back. I thought "Wow, this must be terrible" and vowed never to try it. Two years passed before someone else convinced me to give it a try, and I was astounded. This is the same place my roommate was talking about? Surely not. The food is delicious, and in huge quantities too. But don't let my review decide for you---give it a try yourself.

I'd give it 5 stars, but I did visit inside the place once and it isn't the nicest place for a sitdown. Not awful, but below average. Stick...

I’m I just ate this food and I ate one piece of the sesame chicken and threw the rest away, it had like bones in it and little flavor was super dry felt like I was eating a cotton ball. The rice was basically cardboard cabbage and veggies in the rice seems days old and dried out, the pot stickers were not potstickers they were like giant dumplings not even steamed well and tasted like play dough I threw everything away except for the fortune cookies and packets of soy sauce. It was not good I’m probably gonna get sick from just the bite I took. Spent 20 bucks to not get full and have to throw...
