Omg. Scott Prescott's review is deja vu for me. Me, my husband and sister and stopped in for gas. There is no system or organization at this location. There were 2 men (an older man and a younger man) as well as at least 2 women (one with her braids done beautifully, tied up in a top knot) behind the counter. My sister ordered food for her 3 year old grandson and went back to her car. I had to wait for service as all of the younger staff was busy entertaining themselves with laughter and whatever. I was finally able to get the young man's attention. The women looked annoyed by my request for service/disruption of their good time. Once the young man placed my order neat the register, "top braids" walked over laughing and talking to another customer who had just placed his items on the counter. She stated to no one but seemingly to the other customer who had just placed his items on the counter "people are so rude. Today is not the day." As I waited and she was still rambling, I noticed the "food prepared with peanut oil" sign. I immediately called my sister and told her because she's allergic to Peanuts. Top braids asked the young man what I ordered and then started to ring up my order. I knew the price and put $5 on the counter as I closed my purse and was getting off the phone. Top braid said to the customer behind me who I am assuming is a regular "oh so she can't hand me the money. She's going to put the money on the counter. I was stunned but picked up the $5 and apologized. She said, "nope. I refuse you service. Not today it's too hot for this. Refuse service." I took the money over to the other cashier assuming that they would ring up my item. Nope. Top braid took the egg rolls and tossed them back in the display and told the other cashier "Refuse service". The older man looked confused, embarrassed and scared. Now, if Top Braid is the owner, she just lost money for her business. If she's an employee, she just lost money for the owner. I on the other hand is probably better off not eating what seemingly appeared to be thrice fried and twice battered egg rolls. There are hundreds of restaurants up and down the highway. Some how this power she was given to "refuse service" makes Top braid the ruler of who eats or doesn't eat at Dodges. I took my little $5 bucks and left the business. My husband and I are retired NYC educators who just built a summer home in SC. We decided to visit north Charleston for the day when we stopped in for gas and a quick nosh for a child. It's unfortunate how easily some people can tarnish a company's name. My intention was to write a review the same day (July 2nd approximately 330 pm) but became distracted. As I sat down today, I noticed Mr. Prescott's review and decided to let the public and owner know that training or re-training are in order. The staff (not the older man with glasses) is rude, disrespectful and not equipped to deal with the public at this time. My recommendation to the public is to NOT go here.
UPDATE: I called the number provided by the owner. It's an automated system that asks for your name, number and location of the Dodges and I did that. I will keep you updated on the owner's response. UPDATE 7/12/24: There has been no additional outreach effort made by the owner since they requested that I contact them. They probably don't care about how their customers are treated or can't find professional and respectful employees to run their store. My initial review stands: Bypass this store or cross...
Read moreI ordered the following items online from the 3854 Savannah Hwy, John’s Island SC location:
I walked in the store at 6:00 on 7/3/24, there was a gentleman, and three ladies working behind the counter, with no customers in the store. I walked up to the gentle man and said “Hi how are you!”, he gave me a look of disdain and said she can help you over there. He was in front of a register and so were 2 of the three ladies. I walked over to the young lady and let her know I had an online order , which looked like no-one had put together yet. They put the order together and sealed it up with stickers. I grabbed the order and said thank you, no response.
Then my son went to get ice which was out of stock. He also got a case of water. He went to the register and sat there waiting for the cashier to recognize him and finally ring up the order. all the while the other employees sat there and talked to each other behind the other two registers including the one who refused to assist me.
We got back to our RV Park and found a 20 pc chicken strip box, six fries and 8 ranch dressings. What we ordered is listed below. I was so frustrated after driving all day that I stated to my wife, I am not going back over there, someone must be taking all the other stuff I paid for home, so they must need it more than We do. I also told her that I will NEVER walk in another Dodges Chicken again. Which is a shame because even though it was deli style food, it was pretty good, except the ranch that they did give us tasted spoiled, we threw it all out.
We got no ketchup, no mayonnaise and 6 of 18 potato wedges. I figured they overcharged us by $20, of stuff they shorted us.
I work for a federal agency that assists 300-500 people a day walking in to our office who need assistance. Much like your business it is customer service oriented. This was by far, one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in my 55 years. Your employees should try...
Read moreThe food is always phenomenal but check it before you leave; all too often I have food missing. Today for example: I /really/ really wanted the apple pies that wete supposed to be in my order but, when my family arrived with the food, they weren’t in the box. I usually let it go and swallow the loss but I’d be heading up that way in a day or two anyways and decided to call to see if I could pick it up if I left my name and number. The first girl that answered let me speak up until “[this was my order] and i was wondering if i could come pick-“ and then I heard the phone hang up. I called again and the next lady who answered was kind and courteous and apologized that someone hung up on me. Pretty sure I could show up tomorrow or Saturday and successfully get my missing apple pies now. Anyways, I do not blame the entire staff and usually I have no problem getting what I pay for but a handful of times it wasn’t the case and, in this instance, the first employee I spoke leads me to believe it’s absolutely crucial to check for all the correct food is boxed up before leaving the premises. Don’t be left disappointed when food’s missing and just check before you leave bc sometimes it happens and sometimes I feel like they do that tish...
