I first went to the original "Pile 'Em Up Bob's" when he-she, his wife were in the Thomasboro neighborhood in the late 90s with my Black friend, Cecil. I'am a "Cracker" from Myers Park, so you can see I was a little bit apprehensive about going. I ordered the fish dinner and when I opened it up, WOW !!!! ... 8 pieces of Perch, FF galore, Iced Tea, cole slaw, fork, napkin, tartar sauce, more than I could eat, $6.95. Next time I got the fish sandwich to cut down, 4 pieces of Perch, FF, cole slaw and iced tea, $4.95 ... At the time the prices were very-very reasonable. The selling point of Bob's was, he could "Piled the Food Up". Now that Bob has retired to the Bahamas, Lol, these new owners are faced with new cooks, food prices out of sight high everywhere ... "Not their fault" ... Please give them a "Break" and support them. I think they are on the same level as "BROOKS" Sandwich Shop in North Charlotte ... (No-Da) If "We" don't support local businesses like this, all we got left is McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King with smaller menus, etc ... You only want that junk? Not me !!!! ... PS. Keep Poundin' y'all ... Go Panthers ... 1-8 at this postin' ......

Bob's is located in an older building with a gravel parking lot. The building itself shows it age & isn't the cleanest, but it's important to keep these older establishments alive.
Bob's does take cash or card & the meal options are listed above. They seem to have a variety of options to choose, including a hearty breakfast menu.
For my meal option, I ordered the double cheeseburger (all the way) & the hot dog special. All the way includes chili, coleslaw, & all of the usual burger toppings you'd expect.
The double cheeseburger was quite delicious. I thought it was well seasoned & had a nice blend of flavor where each topping complimented each other.
The hot dogs were good, not great. The chili & coleslaw helped provide additional flavor to them.
The fries were crispy but needed seasoning. They didn't seem to have any seasoning on them at all. Overall, they were bland & I had to season them when I got home.
If you're in a hurry or looking for an affordable carry out option, Bob's may be the...

The server is behind the partition taking orders, and you can see people in the back cooking and cleaning. I wasn't sure what to expect, but there were worker trucks and a dump truck outside, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try.
Like it's name the food is piled high. My take out box would not even close all the way. I ordered a double cheesburger and onion rings. The burger was big and unctuous with no complaints at all. The onion rings were a surprise. They were crunchy and delicious; but the real surprise was the amount. Usually, you get 4 or 5 in an order at most FF places, but not here Easily 15-20.
If you are in the area, then look past the exterior (and the interior) and stop in to grab a great hearty...
