We were up at Sterns today and remembered that Francesca’s was right there so we stopped by to pick up a few cannolis to go with our steaks we got a Sterns. Next time we will skip the confections. Cannolis usually go one of two ways: either the pastry is a very un-cost-effective labor of love made with mostly ricotta and mascarpone cheeses, and powdered sugar- or the disappointing cost-cutting way, made with mostly whipped cream, a “touch” of cheese, amaretto extract, sugar, sugar and more sugar. Francesca’s cannolis are very much the latter. You’d think that a place that prides itself on being an Italian bakery would do things the right way. At 3.99 each, there’s no doubt they are doing things the right way…. For their pocketbooks. Definitely skip this place on your drive by, unless you have diabetic envy.

I got a turkey panini and it was delicious, warm crispy, and a little buttery. I also bought 2 French macaroons. I've only tried the Nutella one so far. It had a great crunch on the shell with a soft core. The Nutella flavor was mild and a touch too sweet, but again delicious. Looking forward to trying the fruity pebbles one later. Bought my husband a mini whoopie pie and a pepperoni puff. The puff had a good amount of pepperoni in the middle. It was a little dry, but im thinking if we warmed it up a touch the melted cheese would fix that. Would be perfect dipped in some marinara.

Visited for the first time looking for unique desserts for a team of summer camp staff who have been working hard for 7 weeks this season. My team of international camp counselors LOVED it. We sampled the mini cannolis, cookie sandwiches, and cupcakes. They were amazing and a few staff claimed the cannolis were better than their last trip to the North End in Boston. We are coming back for cakes and to try the Italian creme frosting before the end of our summer and I recommend that any Charlton native or visitor but this on your list of dessert places to try.

Stopped in with a sweet tooth for the first time & was impressed by the variety & selection of pastries/other baked goods. Prices were fairly reasonable. Service was great. Definitely something here for everyone. Bring your appetite. Classic & unique goodies! We ordered many items including anisette cookie, baklava, etc...would recommend! Can't wait to try more. (Update:) We've since revisited a few times & tried more of what they had to offer. Cannoli are wonderful & are available in full size or mini; regular, tiramisu, or Reese's. Also enjoyed the double chocolate cookie, frosted chocolate chip cookie & ricotta square. However, my friend did request a chocolate chip (ricotta) square & was given a pink one instead, which I'm guessing is maybe strawberry or raspberry? Regardless it was still good. I heard that the Italian cold cut grinders here are delicious & they do look excellent. My daughter enjoyed her chocolate covered Oreo. My son tried a strawberry milkshake bar, but thought it was too sweet. He felt that way about a frosted brownie I got him also. One thing I will suggest is to offer sugar cookies without any frosting! I tried the ones you had with frosting, but the sweetness of the frosting really distracts from the delicious sugar cookie. If they only do come frosted, I'd rather than not at all...but I would prefer them without. Sugar is my favorite kind of cookie, but I don't think it's necessary to add frosting to something already so tasty & sweet! They have cupcakes too & lobster tails (a pastry!) They carry many flavors of fudge, but it's not made at the bakery. I believe it comes from a local apple orchard, but it is very good! They also have wedding cakes available...

I ordered a carrot cake for my wedding. When we taste tested the flavors they were all wonderful. We decided on the carrot cake. During my wedding a guest asked me about nuts being in the cake, I said no, there wasn't any while taste testing the cake and I am allergic plus there was no mention from either the bakery employees or the menu. Well was I wrong. There were walnuts in it so needless to say my flower girl had a reaction and I couldn't eat my own wedding cake. I called and made a complaint and was offered a full refund, but only in a gift card. I do not live in the area so a gift card would not do me any good so I asked for a full refund in the same form of pymt I used. I was put on hold and when they got back to me, all they would offer is $100 check. I am very disappointed in the customer service I received for being lied to about my refund and the insincerity I received about...
