Chatham Cafe — Restaurant in Chatham

Was the worse service I had ever received at a restaurant. The server was extremely rude and disrespectful. My friend wanted just French toast and the man said they are still going to charge her for the combo. my friend was like that's fine just don't make the eggs and bacon(she didn't want them to waste the food she wasn't going to eat). All she wanted was the French toast and noticed it by itself on the other page. She said she wanted that. He then stormed away and got attitude, crumpled the ticket and huffed away. When he came back took her order then proceeded to me. I said I want the titan skillet with hash browns in the skillet and toast on the side. The server made me repeat myself numerous times. I simply said I just want to make sure the toast is on the side and he kept forcing that it came with it..... he had an attitude that was definitely not needed. The server seemed to have no knowledge of the menu. That was my first time visiting the restaurant. No customer should ever have to feel attacked and disrespected. We felt attacked and could not stand for it and to sit there and be treated that way. We waited to be seated, waited about 5 minutes before he even came to order the drinks. I am not the type of person to walk out of a restaurant, but it got to the point where a member of my party was experiencing a high amount of anxiety. I desperately wanted to like this place after the reviews and pictures. We went on Veterans Day which is also my aunts birthday. There wasn’t many people there maybe 4-5 tables taken. The waitress clearly didn’t want to be there and had an attitude. You could see her in the back corner acting like she could care less, looked like she was gossiping or being rude to a coworker. She never did come back for drink refills or to get plates out of the way. The owner or manger did it for us.

My aunt got the fried catfish and said the tartar sauce was straight vinegar and mayo. She also got the samples platter and the marinara sauce was off. My cousins got a club sandwich and showed us that half the sandwich was just bread so imagine a triangle piece that half is colored and the other is not. That’s what her sandwich was. My other cousin got a hamburger she said it was fine. I got blueberry pancakes and was shocked that the only blueberries were cooked down and placed on top of four large pancakes. Nothing inside the pancakes and it wasn’t a pie filling type it was just cooked down blueberry.. my kids got chocolate chip pancakes and a Mickey Mouse pancake so they were happy but I have never seen a pancake with a pineapple face it made me laugh. They got chocolate milk and the milk was curdled.

Each meal was about $12-15 won’t be back after that...

Dreadful experience! We each ordered a breakfast skillet, the base of which is hash browns. What was served was burnt-to-black hash browns throughout the skillet. Beyond inedible. We had to flag down another server to get ours to come so we could explain our issue. She took those skillets away and brought two new ones just a few minutes later. These hash browns were browned on top, but the center was still cold & raw. Again, our server never came to ask how the new skillets were. We ate the eggs, which were properly cooked both times, and finished the pancakes, which were good. We just skipped the 2nd-time inedible hash browns. When the server deposited our check, she had two beverages on it that we did not order. She did correct that when we pointed it out. The cashier asked how everything was as we paid our bill (over $25 for 4 eggs & 2 pancakes). We told her. She said she was sorry and that she "would tell them". We won't go back. We managed/owned our own restaurants over the last 30 years; this was bar none the worst restaurant meal we've ever...
