Ankar's Express — Restaurant in Chattanooga

I think I'd continue eating here even if I hated the food; the service is so great.

I've only been twice but each time Camellia helped us - clearly one of the owners, and based on the friendly banter, her husband is the head of kitchen. (If not, they just have great professional chemistry.)

I like the other Ankars, but this one hits it out of the park. I kinda wish I lived next door just so I could go and chat with the people there. It feels like stepping into a small town. Is this a ridiculous review? Yes. Do I mean every word? Also yes.

The food is great. I've had a salad and a gyro and each were awesome. Partner gets steak in a bag w provolone, and he's been several times and says it's always reliably good.

I honestly get the best vibes from these people. It brings me joy to chat w them. (This is coming from an introvert.:)...

I ordered a Garden Salad at lunch. I ordered two ranch dressings and a Greek dressing. I went back to work and had to drive back because the Greek dressing wasn’t in the bag. I informed the manager of what happened and he offered to make me another salad or make me one for lunch tomorrow. I was already over my lunch time and I asked for a refund. He said he couldn’t do a refund. So I took a loss ($14). But I really am disappointed in people not understanding folks work hard for their money. People make mistakes but be willing to make it right when you mess up. These small businesses survive off of guys like myself. It would be nice to have that same respect reciprocated. I was very kind and threw the salad away and didn’t cause a scene but I was pissed...

I’ve always been a fan of Ankar’s since I first moved here but today my experience has been amplified. I’ve never actually gotten to step foot in a location, I’ve always gone drive thru. Today the hospitality I was shown was amazing. For how busy it was, the King of the land himself came out and checked on me as well as the many other customers in the shop. Not only did this man build me a phenomenal sandwich, but he greeted me personally. I think the prices are amazing for the size and quality of the sandwiches. This place beats my expectations every time. I suggest the Submarine but everything is great. Please bring your families in and support this local business.
