Castle Cafe — Restaurant in Chattanooga

I cannot comment on the food since all I ordered was a cup of coffee. My review is mostly about the customer service. I stepped to the counter after ordering and was completely ignored for least 3 minutes and when a white patron stepped in front of me the person calling out orders immediately greeted them and continued to ignore me. I finally asked about my coffee order and I was told they were really busy. Another white lady who was behind me stated that what happened was wrong and that I was ignored so I know it wasn't just me. Subsequently, a few moments later a completely different person called my name and sat my coffee on the pickup counter. As an HR Professional I can assure you that Training in diversity and sensitivity is truly needed at this establishment. I did not feel welcome as a customer in this establishment but did not want to ruin this trip for my kiddos. Do better Castle...

3/27/25: Update: The Castle Cafe reached out and said that they are going to rectify the situation. That was very unexpected and nice. 3/22/25: We had to wait for our tour and we were starving. First, we ordered our food from a kiosk which I hate. We waited a long time for two sandwiches, a grilled cheese and a club sandwich. My daughter wasn’t feeling well from the drive in the mountains, so I asked how long it would take and they said they couldn’t rush the order. Saw the cafe on News Channel 9 This N That today and thought it would be a good trip for lunch with my mom. Flat bread pizza was more Totinos quality and the over priced pre made salad was browned and tiny. Good by date was today and it went in their trash unopened along with half the flat bread pizza as well. The lemonade was decent. Nice place to sit a spell but no need to waste $63 on 2 flatbreads 2 lemonades and two side salads. The food suck. Advise a revamp on the offerings and get staff with personality.
