“Blissful Mountaintop Retreat 21st century style” Gorgeous balcony view of the winding Tennessee River and the city of Chattanooga. Cozy cottage with an early 1900’s feel, yet with 21st century digital TV access. (Casting from iPhone to TV worked exceptionally well with the provided “gig-speed” WiFi service) It was quite the romantic experience for us. Very peaceful and private. We enjoyed the easy access to fine dining establishments like the 1885 Grill (their signature “1885 Burger” was the best I ever had!) and historic venues like the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. The inn was reasonably priced and an exceptional value. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. A 5 star experience! Recommendations that would improve the experience: 1. More shelving needed in the bathrooms for toiletries. 2. The built-in shower shelf needs a small gate in front to prevent shampoo and soap from sliding off and falling to the floor. 3. Need an easier way to shut off the vent fan in the bathroom. It kept running the whole time until we were able to find the humidity dial near the ceiling. 4. The screen door to the balcony needs a pneumatic door closer to prevent it from slamming loudly. 5. Soundproofing door sweeps need to be installed at the bottom of the connecting room doors to prevent hearing conversations from the other guests.

Beautiful property, room was spotless (and Im funny about showers and I couldn’t find any flaws), and all the linens were very clean. It has a very luxurious feel inside the room but the building itself maintains its rustic charm. Location feels so private yet minutes from the city. The porch with the rocking chairs is such a nice option to just chill and enjoy the view of the river. The self check in was very convenient, especially if you’re arriving later in the evening. The key code lock on the doors made us feel very secure and it was nice not to have to worry about keeping up with a key card. We did not get to try the hot tub or the fire-pit but could see both from our porch and they looked so nice…it was just too warm to justify their use. The only cons (and these are so small) was that the room could get humid at times even with the air con unit so bring a box fan. I also felt like the linens may have had TOO much scent on them because when you touched the towels you’d get a bit of (what I presume to be essential oil residue) on your fingers.

First and foremost, we did our research months in advance (as we always do with our trips). We read over the website, we read reviews, BUT we also corresponded with the Inn itself.

We knew the Inn was an older establishment that had been renovated and we knew the walls may be thinner (they provided earplugs among the many other things they provide in the rooms). I slept like a rock every night.

With Covid, I expected the morning breakfast setup to be different, which they confirmed when I corresponded with them. Yes, breakfast is available and it was plenty variety for me and my spouse. Is it laid out on a table? No. We knew that. You go to the front desk, put in your order, they go prep it and bring it out to you (pre-packaged--again, perfectly fine for us!). Takes literally a minute. The menus for each day are available on their website. Depending on the day, it was sausage biscuits, breakfast wraps, chicken biscuits, etc along with various cereals, muffins, granola, juices, milk, and coffee. It was more than enough for us until lunch time.

Is there daily room service? No, of course not. Again, we knew that ahead of time and a lot of places aren't doing daily room cleanings. That said, we were told from the second we walked in that if we needed anything, to simply ask. They have a variety of towels in the room along with things like the usual shampoo, body wash, conditioner, lotion, shower caps, hand soaps, makeup remover, etc. We honestly don't "need" our sheets or towels changed daily, but we absolutely could've had a changeout if needed. Just ask :)

I think, for those that had a negative experience, many of them could've avoided it by doing their research and actually communicating with the Inn staff. Not sure about something? Ask. Need more towels? Ask.

We both had a wonderful time there. Check-in took seconds, the room was more than big enough for the two of us. We got room #6 (king size bed). The views from all the balconies I'm pretty sure would be the same, but the view truly is breathtaking!! This is a small piece of paradise, quiet and nestled on the side of the mountain. The bed was so comfy! the sheets felt great. Theres a microwave, coffeemaker, and mini fridge in the room. There is an individual A/C in each room and the room temp was great. Heck, when we walked into the room, they had the lights on, music playing on the tv, lovely set up to walk into.

THe firepit is turned on every evening. They offer s'more kits to buy at the front desk. We had gone to Walmart (a mile down the street) and picked up s'more supplies for the week, so we didn't buy from them but we could've. Lovely setup though.

There's a pool there. Clean and quiet. While we were there, it was on the rather chilly side weather wise so we only went into the pool once. Hopefully when we do come back, it'll be warm enough to enjoy every night.

For us, seriously, great time. No issues or concerns whatsoever. We loved it and miss it already. All of the staff was SO helpful and just genuinely wonderful people. We enjoyed all the conversations we had with them. They truly want to make sure your stay is a great one!

Oh! Side note, this place is located almost in the center of Incline Train/Rock City/Ruby Falls/Riding Center & Arboretum and a tiny drive to downtown. So close to everything....

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and loved it! We had room 10, so we were on the lower level. Yes, when there were guests in room 9, we could hear their TV and some talking through the wall, but for us it was not that big of a deal. It was really no different than staying in some hotels. I will say this... if you plan to stay, take some time and read the reviews before you book. I read several, and many people made comments about the "thin walls" and about the beds and pillows being uncomfortable. Since that was mentioned more than once, I just brought our own pillows from home. To us, the bed was comfortable. It was a little harder than I particularly like it, but we both slept well. I had interaction with three different staff members during our stay, and all of them were polite and professional. The breakfast food - in my opinion - was very good. We had hot food options all of the days, as well as fruit, cereal, and pastries. Juice and milk were also available. One night during our stay, we actually ordered from Uber Eats and just ate dinner there in the Skybox Room. It was nice. The rooms are close to the road, so there is some road noise, but we did not find it disruptive or disturbing at all! I also read in some reviews that the bathroom floors got cold and could be slippery, so before we left home, I just ran to the Dollar General and bought a cheap little bath rug and used that during our stay. Again, if you just read the reviews and plan accordingly, I think you will absolutely love this little B&B! It was very close to Ruby Falls and Rock City, and just a short drive from downtown Chatanooga. I would recommend this place for anyone - couples, especially - and will stay again if we ever get back...

This place has amazing amenities and views for the prices. The rooms are a little outdated but my husband and I didn't mind. The bed was SUPER comfy! The sheets are soft and you just sink into the pillows. You can hear the cicadas outside. We felt super relaxed - we would grab some of the prepackaged breakfast in the morning and eat it on our porch and enjoy the view. The grounds had beautiful landscaping as well! I loved all of the greenery and flowers!

My husband worked with the staff in secret to surprise me with flowers and chocolates! It was our wedding anniversary and I really feel like they went above and beyond for us. They asked my husband what kind of flowers I liked and put together a bouquet with sunflowers and lots of purple. They made us a little heart and swans with towels too! They also wrote out a little card on behalf of my husband too. (Everything is in my pictures attached to this review)

The fire pit was super cute and comfy too. It was too hot to sit at it when we went but it made me want to come back when it's cooler out to sit at it and enjoy the views with a sweater.

This hotel is also pet friendly too which is nice. You have to walk your dogs across from the hotel. Some guests were not following this rule.

Thankfully for most of our stay we didn't have anyone in the room next to us - but be warned you share your balcony with the room next to yours. I would definitely recommend to the hotel to put up a separation or barrier - the balconies are very spacious. Especially with COVID being a thing I would not feel safe sharing the balcony and would not be happy if I couldn't use it when I wanted to. (Just wanted to warn people if they don't like shared...
