I stopped by when I had an hour to spare and it was so beautiful and peaceful! There are hidden pathways all over the place but it was mid-July so the greenery covered up a lot of them (idk how many or where they all were… that’s just my assumption based on the few I did see).

It was after hours so there weren’t any tours going on but the gate was open so I assumed it was okay to walk around. I didn’t wander off too far just in case I wasn’t supposed to be there though.

Lots to explore, and it was sooo hot and it started getting late, so I didn’t have enough time to see as much as I wanted to but it was definitely worth the short drive up the mountain to see. (I didn’t want to get lost up there after dark so I left before sunset lol … I’ve heard it’s...

Loved this stop while touring Point Park and other battlefield sights. This house is just past the 'last line' area before Confederates went back down to Chattanooga creek. The dairy house is neat and the porch offers a great view. The house is never open though, unless theres a planned event, which is a waste of a great resource, in my opinion and it would be nice to be able to see in the windows. The grounds are shaded and in good condition. The monu.wnt has a thought provoking cast relief on the side of it that seems to contrast the agricultural aspects of the south and the manufacturing of the north. The trails that start from the Craven house go up to Point park, which is a nice hike, if you're...

If you are visiting Outlook Mountain, don’t forget to stop by Cravens House. This is a perfect place to park your car and hike to Point Park and Sunset point. When you come up on Scenic Highway watch out for the road sign to Cravens House. You take a left turn and drive up the steep slope. The road gets really narrow, but continue and you will see the entrance gate to the parking lot. This was our first visit to Cravens House and were anxious as the road became narrower. The parking lot is big. Unfortunately, the house was closed on The day after Christmas. We decided to hike...

Cravens house is great from my perspective as an outdoor enthusiast...there are many trails all over lookout mtn that can be accessed from Cravens house. Some are easy and you can push a jogging stroller on them while others are more technical and lead you up to point park or sunset rock but those trails I wouldn't recommend taking a jogging stroller. If you have a young kiddo put em in a baby backpack vs a stroller for those hikes. Cravens house also has a lot of historical significance especially surrounding the Civil War
