This was such a unique experience that I throughly appreciated in more ways than I could’ve ever possibly imagined going into it!
We traveled from Florida for this activity and simply could not stop laughing but also marveling in its quaint-effectiveness to make us feel like we were mid 1900’s royalty between the music & the decorative pieces all around the room. We were definitely the only people in our decade age bracket. There was a gentlemen from the closest table to us that came over to chat with us as he could tell we weren’t from the area, took our photo for us (we didn’t ask) and gave us some insight of the area! Super nice!
Our server Maddy, her existence alone was a blessing. Very outgoing, bright aura, very catering and always had a smile presented the entire hour that she ran around like a headless chicken. Reminded me of an old friend from South Dakota as she gave us our first impression of southern hospitality.
The tea, which we’ve never dabbled in before was delish and plentiful between the two flavors we got to choose from: Cinnamon plum and the dragon fruit super berry one? The pastries with the pimento dip were a nice treat to start off with.
We had NO idea we were getting that sampler tray of 6 different items towards the 2nd half and by golly it was so good and left us ready for a nap! That Boston creme pie dessert left me in shambles wanting to buy the entire stock to take back to the hotel.
We did the experience with the train ride as we’ve never been on a train and we used it to Power Nap before getting to the guided tour portion of it haha.
10/10 would do it again &...
Read moreWhat a treat! My family planned this surprise birthday trip to the Homefront Tearoom, and it was great from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with a courtesy ride from the car to the depot, and everyone we met was incredibly pleasant and welcoming.
The entire facility is pristine, which is especially impressive given its history. It's obvious that care is paramount here. The staff even greeted my grandchildren with such pride and dignity. Be sure to arrive early, as the lobby has a very interesting museum that's worth exploring.
The tearoom itself did not disappoint. Our party of eight was seated in a lovely private area. The decor is fantastic, and the variety of teacups and teapots adds to the enjoyment. Everything was delicious, from the tea to the food.
The whole experience is so well-planned. After tea, we enjoyed a ride on a steam engine train. The conductor was just as courteous as the staff at the depot and tearoom. The ride was both entertaining and informative, and we even got to get off for a lovely tour where we learned about the "turntable." I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful...
Read moreMy friend surprised me with a reservation at a charming tea room. Upon arrival, we were seated at a beautifully set table with our names on the reservation. The table was adorned with elegant plates, tea cups, and silverware. We were presented with a menu to order our tea and had several options to choose from. Additionally, we ordered mimosas and were served house cheese with crackers, breakfast cakes with three toppings, and our favorite lemon cream. The food was delicious and filling, with broccoli soup, quiche, banana pudding, and bite-sized cheesecake and macaroons on the menu. To top it off, the owner brought out a chocolate cupcake for my friend's birthday. The hospitality was impressive, and we will...
