best restaurant in chattanooga, i would sell my first born just to have one serving of broccoli and beef with a side of pork fried rice. the wonton soup tastes akin to the feeling of dancing on soft clouds. the steak on a stick feels like the warm first love of adolescence. the springrolls are pockets of eye-watering joy. like walking through a field on a warm spring day. if war were to ever befall chattanooga, TN, i would be outside hong kong chinese restaurant defending until my dying breath. if hong kong has 10 million fans, i'm one of them. if hong kong has 1 fan, that's me. if hong kong has no fans , i must have passed on from this mortal plane. no amount of distance should keep you from hong kong chinese restaurant. birmingham? worth the drive, atlanta? its so much better than anything you'll find there. NYC? hop on a plane, baby! destination? hong kong chinese restaurant in Chattanooga, TN.

As soon as our soup was brought out I knew the rest of our food was gonna be good. The wonton soup had a delicious clear broth. There wasn't much filling in the wontons but the noodles themselves were really tasty. The egg drop soup was smooth and savory. I was surprised that I liked it as I normally don't enjoy egg drop soup. The lo mein was perfect. It was just what I was craving. I loved the slight smoky flavor of the sauce and the freshness of the cabbage. The chicken had a nice flavor as well. The pepper steak was really yummy. The beef was very tender and flavorful. Overall, I would've liked to see more filling in the wontons and more substance to the fried rice as it was pretty plain. But other than that this was a pretty good deal for the price. This isn't the best chinese food I've ever had but it's definitely decently good for the area and the price :)

I would definitely recommend this place. It may only take cash or checks but it is delicious food, great prices, and good portions. We ordered a sweet and sour combination plate and it came with fried rice and a pork egg roll. We also ordered an orange chicken combination plate. Our total was only about $22 and was well worth it for the amount of food we received. The food was also freshly made. The flavors were good. But the orange chicken did come with broccoli at the bottom of the plate. It was a surprise but very very delicious and well cooked. Staff was also very friendly. Definitely will come back next time I am in the area.

Well this was late June hot hot outside. I wanted to try something other than panda express. We eat panda express once a week, but I miss fried wontons, and I love hot and sour soup!!!! So I googled chineses restraunts close to me. This one came up. We pulled up, my gut told me to leave but we didn't. Ceiling fans were on full blast, which told me one it was hot in there, which also told me A no one stayed there to eat, and B. They didn't want anyone to stay and eat or they didn't care. There drink machine was out of order. No one greeted us, and a 12 year old girl that barely opened her mouth took our order. Every time I asked a question about a dinner she turned and spoke very clear and plesent to her mother that was prepping the food behind her. When her mother spoke to me she answered me agitated, as if I was bothering her, or interrupting her. Then the girl would walk back to the counter where I was standing and just stand there and look at me. She never would say anything. Very uncomfortable, for me, very unprofessional, very weird situation. If my son didn't have his heart set on it I would have left. In fact I asked him two different times don't u want something else? I know the little girl is a child but if ur going to have her representing your buisness, teach her manners. Teach her to open her mouth and speak up, teach her to smile. I know she can, I watched her play with her brother as soon as we walked away. But I guess she has learned exactly what you have taught her. We will not be...

We have been getting take out from Hong Kong for 11 years. Averaging at least once every other month or more. The food is always good and consistent. I hate that people give them mediocre or bad reviews because of the cash or check only thing, there is a sign right under the menu on the wall behind the registrar that clearly states their policy. People giving bad reviews because they refuse to open their eyes and read is infuriating. It has been there for at least 11 years. If your that bent about the cash/check thing, after placing your order walk over to Publix grab a drink and get cash back. They get high praise for their good food at cheap prices but then people complain about the look and the no credit card. While yes its dated it is not meant to be a true sit down affair. It is meant to be a take out joint, which it is. If they take credit/debit and update the dining/waiting area then the price would go up This is an AWESOME Chinese take out that rivals the ones I have had in Chicago or Miami. Great food at a great price! As for their daughters working the registar, it is a family business and good for them teaching their...
