The Carlisle — Restaurant in Chehalis

We are vacationing in the area. The Carlisle was recommended to us by a local couple. We called Carlisle on Wed. and inquired about the prime rib. Was told it was on Fri. and Sat. nights. We went there the following night just to check it out and give it a test run, planning to go back on Friday night for the prime rib. We extended out vacation here 1 more night just to do this. Husband and I both had the hamburger and fries. Very good hamburger. We were impressed. We talked to 2 waitress about coming back on friday for prime rib. One said to get there early because it will be busy with Cinco de Mayo. Said they start serving the prime rib at 5:00. We ask if 4:30 would be to early. She said no, that would be a good time - we would be sure to have a table and get our order in even though they would not serve it until 5:00. We show up at 4:30 on friday evening planning on having a beer in our half hour wait. We order the drinks and told waitress (different waitress than previous night) we were there for the prime rib dinner. She said they were not serving it tonight because of Cinco de Mayo. Wow, what a disappointment. I told her we extended our stay just to come for the prime rib. She was very apologetic. We have been waiting all day for prime rib and went to a different location. I think changes to the general nightly specials should be relayed to the staff. Between the call on Wed. and 2 waitresses on Thurs. we were miss informed 3 times. If their prime rib is as good as their hamburger was, I am sure it is very good. Looking forward to trying it when we are back next year. The place is very nice and clean. Food here was great! Ask for extra cheese on nachos. Everything was very tasty! Service was ok, but what made me give a 1 star is there was an older man who was trying to get into the restaurant. They do not have a handicap automatic door opener, someone in our party opened the door for the man, but there was a employee walking over to help, they turned around and headed back to behind the bar and let my family open the door for this old man, to get into their establishment, the employee did not thank my boyfriend, just went back to work. No server ever came to the man who seated himself in a booth to offer a water or a menu, the man sat there, and waited, until eventually, he got up and headed back to the door. My family again saw him struggling to get out, opened the door for him, and the man said, he would give his money to another establishment, because they never came to greet him or serve him. This act made me sad for our world today, and seeing that in a small town like this, was even more of a shock, usually small towns have an amazing welcoming feel. My family were the only ones occupying a table in the dinning area, employees were talking and visiting behind the counter. Also note, the soda gun wasn't working, even though the gal said it was full, we think it's probably clogged, due to lack of cleaning it? Anywho, great food, but lacking service today. Hope your restaurant...

First time I've been here after a little while of them being open... pass it all the time. We were all hungry so we ordered some grub... Patty melt with onion rings... Mushroom burger with rings... Bacon Cheeseburger with rings as well... Also some cheese curds and mozzarella sticks.... Bout 15-20 mins later and I pull up and walk in to a very inviting area surrounded in wood...looks awesome. Was greeted by some very nice people and they had my order ready....place was very clean and had some good folks enjoying dinner...was a good experience. Got home and gave it all a whirl.... Great job everyone... that was very good meal for all of us!!.. No complaints to be had....everything tasted great and was cooked right.. We shall be back... bunch of other items that we will be trying.... Thank you very much for the great service and food. Remember to support your local business for they are the backbone of your community!

Update.... 5-31-23 I am now not going back anymore... Very unfortunate but they left me and my family no choice in this decision. Raw meat for the 3rd time....not only on a simple Cheeseburger but on my moms bacon Cheeseburger as well.... unacceptable and could get someone sick... I have been a cook in this state and I know that there are standards to follow. As a reviewer for Google maps I have to let you know to be careful! I hate to write this but it...
