Hometown Pizza is a small local place, which often means it's low quality and overpriced. Having ate there 4 times now, I can say it is the best pizza I have ever had, in a tie with Big Ed's pizza in Huntsville. I've worked pizza, delivery, and have tried just about every pizza business I have came across as an adult. That said, Hometown is amazing. It's high quality and made with care, the staff are very hard working and friendly. They are attentive, and take pride in what they make, and the taste and presentation reflects that. The only issue I have had is, a newer employee laid the cheese on a bit heavy once. They aren't exactly cheap, but definitely not overpriced either. You get what you pay for, and every cent is worth it. It's kid friendly, and for being in such a small town, they are slammed every time I stop by. They do not have delivery sadly, but it is well worth a trip to try them. 5 stars, all around, way way better than any of the bigger pizza chains...
Read moreMy family visited from out of town for our son's birthday and he wanted to stop here, we'd never been. The food was not worth what we paid for and was very misleading. (I paid $5 for a "salad" that was a box of lettuce and shredded cheese??) But we were willing to chalk that up to a "now we know" kinda thing.
What was unacceptable, however, was that the young lady working there had literal strip club music playing loudly on her speaker and was ignoring my husband who was, at that point very loudly, calling out for her attention to stop the song.
Going out to eat here was supposed to be the cherry on top of a great day. Instead, it ended up ruining what was left of our day. I don't like being "that person" at restaurants. But, I've only ever been disappointed enough to give bad public reviews on like, 4 places/items in my life and this was just bad enough to...
Read more² Some of the best pizza and subs I have had yet! The atmosphere was nice considering they are a little hole in the wall restaurant. To be absolutely honest, i really wasnt empressed walking into the building and if it wasnt for the recommendation of fellow coworkers I probably would have just kept driving. They are the "pizza and sub" gem in the rough of Alabama. I would recommend giving this place a try if you ever get the chance but if your pressed for time then your better off pre-ordering. The only other thing that I wasnt impressed with was the boneless chicken wings. They tasted good, and they really wasn't the best but the popcorn chicken size nuggets where less then satisfying for there price. Other then that I would give this place a 8.5-9...
