UPDATED REVIEW 2.8.2025 I revisited Ashley’s Restaurant today with my mother and father, expecting the great service and hospitality we’ve experienced in the past. We’ve dined here at least 10 times over the past year, including hosting two graduation dinners and a large dinner party for our church. However, after today’s visit, we will not be returning.
I take great pride in my reviews and have built credibility as a Google reviewer, with my photos and reviews accumulating over 1,619,713 views. In fact, one of my photos of Ashley’s Restaurant’s salad bar alone has over 82,000 views—a testament to the reach and impact of my honest feedback.
On our first visit, I was so impressed by the food and service that I left a 5-star Google review raving about the experience. During that visit, the chef made an error in preparing our crab cakes, and the manager at the time, Kevin, kindly offered us a complimentary dessert. We were too full that night and decided to take a rain check for a future visit.
Fast forward to today, and it’s clear the restaurant is not what it once was. The new manager and staff lacked the warmth and attentiveness we had previously appreciated. Our waitress, Nina, made us feel rushed and unwelcome rather than valued customers. When we mentioned the complimentary dessert we were promised, she seemed annoyed and said she needed to check with her manager.
Manager Sarah came over, and when we explained the situation, she dismissed it outright. She stated that Kevin was no longer there and that their restaurant doesn’t “have a policy” of offering complimentary desserts. I even pulled up my original review, where I documented Kevin’s promise, but she stood firm and refused to honor it.
A good restaurant values its loyal customers—especially those who have brought in large parties and have supported them repeatedly. Refusing to honor a simple, less-than-$10 dessert felt inconsiderate and dismissive.
Sadly, the level of hospitality and service has gone downhill, and Ashley’s Restaurant has lost our business. We will not be returning or recommending it to anyone else.

We came here on a Thursday, about the time they opened (11:15am). We drove up from Delaware, about a 20min drive. When we arrived, the restaurant was spotless and the hostess was friendly. We sat at our booth and our waitress asked us for our drink order and then we told her "we're here for the Salad Bar". She smiled and let us do our thing!! For starters, the salad bar was massive, fresh, and colorful and boy did I load up my plate (I actually had 2 plates lol). My mom ordered a crab cake dinner to go, but the chef made it broiled. We informed our waitress and she apologized and let the owner (Kevin) know. Kevin was very nice, apologized and gave us a complimentary dessert which we got a raincheck on because we were soooo stuffed from the salad bar lol. By the time we left, the restaurant was full of people and lively. There's also a nice sized bar on the other side with an area for live music that the restaurant hosts and an outdoor deck/patio area. I highly recommend Ashley's Restaurant and Bar for an afternoon lunch or an evening dinner. Great for small or...
Read moreGreat food and great service! I went to Ashley's the first time over the summer. For dinner I ordered a burger with blue cheese. It was probably the best burger I ever ate. And it was huge, so I had half left for the next day. The staff were really friendly and at one point the manager came over, introduced himself, and made sure everything was good. I was just really impressed overall and the place was immaculate in terms of cleanliness. Some of my neighbors have eaten there as well and they all had great experiences. It's a great addition to the town!
Update (3/9/25)- I've always gotten takeout, but last night I went with my sister to dine-in. The food was great. The salad bar is TERRIFIC. It came with the entree. One thing I really enjoyed is that the music wasn't too loud and the playlist was very relaxing. Not the loud, annoying pop music that makes it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. Parking can be a little tricky because it's so popular, but that's a good sign.... I just recommend going early for dinner because of parking on weekends if you can, but there were still some spots left around 5:00. They also have live music and outdoor seating with a fireplace (or something). You would have to check the website for the...
Read morePhoned in an order as i was on my way up to CHOP this afternoon. Our daughter is having a procedure as a Crohn's Warrior .As I ordered the food I had mentioned please include to go utensils since we were dining in her assigned hospital room. When I arrived the managers (Jason & Tyler) confirmed the order and had me re confirm my name , when I did both managers disappeared in the back a retrieved something out of what looked like a dessert freezer. When the booth reappeared they handed me a container which I assumed was a dessert treat. When I made it to CHOP . I checked in and hand delivered the food to my daughter and wife. As we finished our food (which was tasty by the way) I handed the desert container to my daughter. To her and our surprise there was the most touching note written inside the container. "please enjoy the dessert and KEEP UP THE FIGHT!" My daughter , wife and myself were very moved by the gesture. Gang, it is this simple -I work with tons of businesses in the tristate area and I have to be honest an establishment that cares about people first vs. just out there to make a profit you know get them in and out , is very rare these days. Salute to Ashley's! Jason & Tyler made our daughters...
