Compadres Grill — Restaurant in Chester Township

First time at this new restaurant. The place is huge, it's very clean and looks like a very nice establishment, you can tell they put a lot of effort into the plans and design. The first strange thing we noticed, there are no Hispanics working, they might be in the kitchen, but it always feels weird in a Mexican restaurant to not have any representation present.

The salsa and chips were some of the best we have had, they nailed that. The drinks are good, but they feel like far less of a pour than other Mexican restaurants, but for the same price, or even more.

The food was fair at best. The beans were very runny, half of my steak was chewy and half was good, always a pain sorting out which parts are good to eat. The chicken was tough per my wife and all-in-all, it was just a fair experience at best.

The staff was pleasant and seemed caring, which was nice in a world where service stinks. The price for this meal was a lot compared to other Mexican restaurants and with the food quality that we got, we may not take a second stab...

Did a walk-in no-rsvp impromptu gals dinner on Wednesday night to celebrate a belated bday. Were seated immediately & thrilled they have bigger booths seating up to 6 adults comfortably. Had great experience & will DEFINITELY be back to try more items on their extensive traditional with a twist Mexican food menu. LOVED the ‘handcrafted’ (& pricier BUT worth it!) Margaritas with freshly squeezed limes & oranges. Incredibly refreshing & beautifully presented. Super helpful & attentive waitstaff. Overall experience was poor. Drove 30 minutes to try based on recommendations. Ordered and server double checked each person in the parties order. When served my order was completely wrong. And multiple food items were cold. During the entire course of our meal server did not come to refill any drinks, had to walk up to the bar after about 10-15mins to ask for our drinks to be refilled. Also a bit nit-picky but were not allowed to customize street tacos from corn tortillas to flour tortillas.
