Owner is rude, unprofessional, and should not be able to work in customer service. Went to see fathers band play on a Friday night, which they have done for over a year now. Reservations were made for 12 on the hottest night during the heat wave. They decided to let band know they were playing outside in their backyard which was unkept to say the least. It was 95 with 90% humidity. They set up tables that were opened and set for service. My family reserved a table for 12 inside like we always do. But! outside we were told in the sun only 9 people could sit on top of each other in the sun at reserved seat for 12. Not enough room. The Average age of the guests were 70 years old! But there were about 5 other open tables… the open tables were…. Open! No reserve signs. No hostess. My family sat at one of the tables next to my family and more family friends came and sat at the other open table. The owner Aaron I believe is his name came out and told three 80 year old ladies who drove 50 miles and get dinner and drinks were told to go sit in a dirty table shoved off to the side in the sun because these tables were reserved! As well as the one my family was at after I had purchased drinks. I, being a food director for 25 years said to him. You know you should put reserve signs on the table if they are reserved. His response to me was. I can do anything I want to. I said well we are all here purchasing food and drink from your restaurant and treating customers like that is very unprofessional. I said that’s just wrong making us move to a dirty table in the sun. He got in my face and said “who do you think you are lady??” I stood up and said I am a paying customer who is bringing money to your hurting business. I said I’m trying to give you some advice on how to be professional! He told me to get out of there. He was kicking us out. He will never ever have my family and fathers band there again! As we were walking out there were 10 open tables inside and zero customers waiting for a table! The place was close to empty. Appalling! This place should thank us for bringing any money to a place that serves cafeteria style food at best for $22 a plate for over cooked pork loin and canned gravy. The winter months we were literally the only customers and he was sketchy those times but we ignored his bad day. But it’s who he is. Thank you common. We went to comfort kitchen in Huntington about 4 miles before this hole and the food, service, and drinks were...
Read moreThe only positive comment I can say is that the curry chicken dish was some of the best ive ever had. Great beer selection ( although pricey ) and water was brought to the table which was nice and cold, but second time around I guess you must ask for it to be cold. Dead flowers that make a mess on tables, ok. Not acknowledged with even so much as a hello or a smile. We worked with 1 menu, ok fine. Deviled eggs are HORRIBLE. They are egg whites with a bottle of Dijon mustard on them, yes we ate them for $6 for 4 egg halves we weren't gonna leave them. Food came out first for adults and then kids, microwave is over used. We made the mistake of using an expensive wooden bowl that was on the kids table to give the kids some tortilla chips while the waited for their meals since we had ours, the owner came over grabbed the chips with her hands and rudely told us that the bowl was an artisan bowl. We did not know and if so it shouldn't have been on the kids table. No our kids did not grab it and if the food came out sooner this would never have happened. Tacos were ok, let them know u don't want them burned and u should be okay. The place on a Saturday afternoon while the Chester on track is going on should have been busier, maybe 3 tables were occupied. That should have been an indication. I can't remember the last time I left such a bad review, but this restaurant needs to make some changes and perhaps learn how to greet people period, although a smile would have been nice even upon leaving and when the check was giving not a word. Oh and bring a pen, once the check is given your put of luck...
Read moreWe already had dinner and went to hear the live music so we ordered coffee and dessert and the waitress seemed genuinely displeased that we weren't ordering dinner.
The coffee was Great Barrington roasted and was very bold and good. I had the flourless torte and she ordered the banana trifle. The waitress brought us the torte but switched her trifle to a piece of chocolate pie with walnuts, dripping with chocolate syrup in a glass. I tried it, no banana flavor and it just wasn't what the menu described at all. It was chocolate pie in a glass covered with walnuts and chocolate syrup...very weird. When we asked the waitress if there was a mistake, she told us it WAS the banana trifle. HUH???
It was like reality was suspended and we were being told the dog is now a cat, deal with it.
The waitress offered to "get the manager" but the place was pretty busy and before we could decide what to do, the waitress then said she would take it back and take it off our bill. Not what we wanted, OK?
We waited for a real long time and she ran by and dropped the check and the pie in a glass now called banana trifle was STILL on the bill!
More waiting, more odd comments, not even approaching an apology. My lady paid the bill and I don't know if she did or not but I would NOT have left even a poor tip.
We'll skip this place in the future, it didn't make sense at all and we drove quite a ways to...
