Super cold upstairs...with ice cold water only in the bathrooms to wash hands with. Had to be 15° warmer downstairs. I commented as we left they should cut a hole in the ceiling to let some of this heat upstairs. Warning...$6 kids burger is NOT hand pattied like the adult burgers. Was blanantly obvious it was a frozen patty like what they serve in the school cafeteria and was completely over done(not cooked medium well). To top it off put on the same bun they put their adult burgers on so it looked even skimpier. Literally laughed out loud at how ridiculous it looked. Husband ordered prime rib sandwich which again skimpy and not prime rib...more like a pot roast on a bun. I guess the onion straws hide the lack of meat the $11 sandwich has until you have someone that doesn't want them on their sandwich. Loading up a sandwich with toppings to hide what the sandwich really isi, is just sad. My salmon special was good except the one end was burnt. Seems to be a theme. Now we were a large group, and there was another even larger group upstairs too, but not an excuse for food to be burnt. Another downside to sitting upstairs is how slow the food comes out and by the time it gets to you and you wait for everyone to get theirs, it is no longer hot. Wasn't cold but...but definitely not hot. We understand that people like craft brew beers but it is a disappointment that in offering that selection you eliminate domestic beer options for those that don't. Atmosphere wasn't enough to make up for the lack luster food. Waitstaff was nice and was impressed with how our waitress kept everyone's order straight considering how mixed up we all were from our families...but even the greatest waitress can't make mediocre food sparkle. Nice try but definitely room for...

I hate giving a 1 star. I especially hate it because we like St. Nicholas especially the one at the airport. And also the one in DuQuoin so we had high hopes for this one. First the patio seating area was very disappointing and that was our main reason to go. It was a beautiful cooler August day and we thought it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy eating looking out over the river. We didn't even sit outside. 😒. We got there a little after 12 for lunch and waited an hour for our food. There was 1 waitress. And as you can imagine one waitress for the whole restaurant she didn't get to our table very often. My husband had ordered a drink and waited almost 20 minutes for it to come then when it did it was wrong twice. Got our food. My husband didn't even get what he ordered and I got the fish tacos with fries and the tacos came out but not with fries. The waitress said the fries would be coming out but they never did. The fish tacos were ok. They literally came with a fish stick in them and the rest of the taco was filled with slaw and cheese. The inside of the restaurant was nice we did like that but the rest of the experience was so bad. Not worth visiting again. They did comp my...

How do you write a review that makes the rest of your 'regular' restaurants look bad? Let's start with the hand breaded boneless wings and chicken tenders. Even without the sauce this never frozen chicken, incredibly juicy with breading that is extra fluffy and not crunchy or overbearing, is the very best you can possibly find. The chicken ceasar salad is made with the freshest lettuce and just a touch of dressing with homemade croutons and don't forget the juicy chicken crumbles. The turkey avocado swiss sandwich is ridiculously good! The spicy mayo made in house really sets it off and is more than enough for a big man's lunch. If you have a giant appetite the house made burger will test your stomach as it is one of the biggest I have ever seen. Lastly, on Fridays they do a full flight of all 12 of their microbrewe for $18. Essentially 4 pints of microbrewe for $18! And the beers are very good with something for everyone. This restaurant should be on everyone's TO DO list. 12out...

Fantastic discovery while we were passing through Chester on our way to Missouri on a Sunday afternoon: I was a bit thrown off by a "landmark" showing up when I was trying to find somewhere nearby to eat, but it's a charming restaurant overlooking the river. We had the Southern Sweetness pizza, but added on bacon crumbles, and the result was amazing! We also enjoyed the stuffed banana peppers. A couple of excellent guitarists were playing acoustic oldies from the 1960s in the main room; even though it was fairly busy, the servers were friendly and helpful and the food came out surprisingly quickly once we ordered. Even if it hadn't been fast, it was an enjoyable place to take a break from the road, with lots of interesting eye-catching details and a wonderful view of the river. To be sure, the next time we pass through Chester, we'll have to make a point of stopping by here again!

Cool bar restaurant located right next to the mighty Mississippi river . Beer was good and food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the pretzels and artichoke hearts for an appetizer. The mustard sauce was odd it was sweet . Not my favorite . The artichoke hearts were really good and the garlic aioli was a perfect dipping sauce. My wife and I split a candied bacon BLT. The bacon itself was fantastic . The bread on the sandwich was so toasted it was closer to a crouton . We ended up just eating the bacon off of the sandwich. We sat at the bar and there was a massive fruit fly problem. Clearly something needs cleaned and the bartender said it's been that way for awhile. That doesn't make it ok . Figure it out before you get somebody sick

The staff, appetizers, food, and beer were fantastic, as well as the amazing building itself. The brewmaster/manager (not sure how that works, I believe his name was Paul) came and talked to us after our meal, and couldn't have been more pleasant and cordial. Hats off to everyone there, as well as those who set the standard for service. I could not recommend the place more. I'm sorry I don't remember our waiters name, but he was outstanding (we were there on 3/4/20 for my birthday, and I ordered a full flight and had a birthday shot if that helps). He deserves the credit he earned. First time we had been there, but most certainly will not be our last!
