It’s Masala Time is a true gem in Chestertown for anyone who loves authentic Indian food - and if you haven’t tried Indian - YOU NEED TO TRY IT HERE! We tried a variety of dishes, and every single one was bursting with flavor and spices.
We started with the Aloo Tikki Chaat, not knowing what to expect. It was a delightful dish filled with chickpeas, yogurt, tamarind, and mint! Also a must try - the Mulligatawny Soup! It was perfect for the cold weather - it was warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious.
The Goat Rogan Josh, Goat Biryiani and Goat Vindaloo were incredible! The goat in all of our dishes were so tender and perfectly cooked. The Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy and perfectly spiced, and the Chicken Dhaba Style had a unique flavor that we couldn’t get enough of. We also had (and recommend) the Masala Chai and Gulab Jamun!!
The service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was beyond inviting. It’s clear the owner is passionate about their food, and it shows in every dish. We had a complicated party with some miscommunications in our group and they were SO accommodating and patient! They went above and beyond our expectations, giving us such a great dining experience!! We’ll definitely be back to explore more...
Read moreNice experience at Masala Time! The best part was the hospitality and service. We felt very welcomed. Their Naan is awesome and very sharable, don't order one per person. The Tandoori shrimp was very good, and healthy. I will try other clay oven items next time. We ordered Dal (lentils) and Saag Paneer (spinach), a lamb dish, and Chicken Tikka Masala, all were very tasty, but I thought they had too much cream compared to other Indian foods I've had which makes the meal less healthy. Next time I will ask for less cream in everything, which I'm sure they could accommodate and I will ask for recommendations without cream. The Rose Lassi yogurt was too sweet for my taste, but overall I enjoyed the unique flavor. I also suggest to make the dining area ambiance more cozy perhaps with art or other architectural elements to the room, as it's a very big space. Also I suggest to separate the dining area from the back of house activity by creating a divider so that customers don't have to view what the staff are doing. This will elevate the dining experience. Thank you Masala Time! Glad you are in...
Read moreToday I visited It’s Masala Time for lunch. This was my first visit and will absolutely be the first of many. They opened just a few days ago and I can highly recommend them.
First, we were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Hospitality was great.
The staff attended to our questions with ease. My wife is not a fan of curry so she was apprehensive about the food choices- our host was very friendly and suggested she try Butter Chicken. She LOVED it.
I ordered a chicken biryani and it was delicious. The chicken was married to the spices and the rice. Perfect portion size too.
We especially liked the choices of Naan. We selected a chili garlic naan and that was a good compliment to our entrees.
Servers were attentive without being intrusive and we shared a relaxing meal in a quiet atmosphere. They were busy and there were many carry out orders being processed as well. Food came out fast and our order was perfectly accurate, even with it being a lunch hour rush and just opening.
Again, we will see you soon - thank you for your hospitality and...
