On June 3rd, I walked into Einstein Bagel and immediately saw the very unprofessional cashier at the register. I was tempted to leave but she left the register and someone else took over for her. The young lady who was taking my order was so nice and professional. However, the rude and unprofessional lady came over, as I was ordering and said, "we out of those bagels, what else you want?", in a very coarse manner. I began to look over the bagels to see what my options were and not even within 3 seconds she's using suggestive body language, hastening me to hurry up. So, I pick a bagel. She then says "Is that all?" I proceed with my order, "May I also have a pizza bagel". She scoffs and says "cheese or pepperoni" in the most condescending manner. I smile and politely say, "pepperoni". I pay for my order and left a tip for the previous cashier because she was wonderful. The other lady leaves the register and begins to talk about me to her other colleague, and the colleague seemed to be uncomfortable but indulged her. I walked down to the pickup spot and asked the employee working the line if the corporate office was still in Colorado (I'll elaborate on this shortly). She replied, "yes, Denver". Then she went on to ask me "was everything ok?". I replied, "yes, and that I will speak with the corporate office about it". I asked her for her name (Lisa) and if she was the manager. She replied with her name and confirmed she was the manager. I told her that I truly appreciated her professionalism and that I wish everyone at the establishment would conduct themselves in such a way. She replied, "I understand, I really do" as if she already knew what I was referring to. I didn't elaborate on the incident with Lisa because I didn't think it was the proper forum for the complaint, nor did I want to disparage the young lady while she was working. I left the store and immediately reached out to their 3rd party "quality control" company who relays these sort of grievances to the company. Haven't heard anything back yet.
Back story, over a year ago I had a similar encounter with this same young lady where she was displaying such a negative disposition that it prompted me to look up the corporate office. I was never able to get in touch with anyone and the next time I came she was actually ok. However, every other time I've come in the past year she has been insufferable. I NEVER write reviews or report negative incidents, because the hospitality/food industry can be tough to navigate as an employee. However, this young lady's attitude is so egregious that I feel it is necessary to report this behavior. I'm a Project Manager and if anyone on my team conducted themselves in this manner, I would want to know. Typically these incidents don't usually run me off but I can no longer patronize this establishment...
Read moreI've been a fan of Einstein's Bagels for a while, but my recent visit was a huge letdown. I ordered the Turkey Avocado Bagel Sandwich, which I've enjoyed in the past, but what I received this time was far from satisfactory.
The turkey, which is usually well-prepared, was just a haphazard stack of meat, as if it was pulled straight from the package and thrown onto the sandwich without any care. The lack of effort in preparation was evident and quite disappointing.
Moreover, the quality of the vegetables left a lot to be desired. The tomatoes were white and clearly not ripe, contributing nothing to the flavor or texture of the sandwich. The lettuce not only tasted off but also gave the impression that it hadn't been properly washed. This disregard for basic ingredient quality really put me off.
To top it off, the bagel, which is the heart of the sandwich, was not toasted. This lack of attention to what should be a standard request was the final straw for me. The overall experience was so underwhelming that I ended up throwing my sandwich in the trash.
While I understand that not every experience can be perfect, this visit was a stark contrast to the quality I’ve come to expect from Einstein's Bagels. It's unfortunate, but I feel compelled to say that I won't be returning to this particular location. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so that the quality can be improved for...
Read moreHonestly everytime I've been here, something has either been, or felt, off. I'm sure they experience regular rushes of people clamoring for coffee and bagels, but regardless of the time of day I've been in there, I've felt that my presence as a customer is marked with glares that say "you'd be doing us a favor if you just left and didn't order anything". As if everyone there is just waiting until they don't have to be there. I get it. Everyone has a rough day here and there. But this has been my consistent experience at this location specifically.
Today there was only one person on the floor handling a line of about 5 customers while another worked in the back. He seemed desperate to get help from his associate in the kitchen, but when he asked him for a farmhouse bagel, he responded... "do I care?" under his breathe. I love these bagels and I love the people making them. I just wished they wanted to work there as much as i want to buy bagels from them. But this is wishful thinking in a time where capitalism grips so tightly on the throat of the working class.
Also my farmhouse sandwich was missing spread, and they forgot the cream cheese with my order of a half dozen assorted bagels. Check your orders before you leave the store. Here's...
