Waitress was new. That being said, service was ok for having a new waitress. Special on board said "Jalapeño Grilled Cheese with side of soup". Ok, sounds good. I was expecting soup to be a tomatoe soup of some kind, I mean, what soup goes better with grilled cheese? It was vegetable beef soup. Veggies were half raw in it still. The grilled cheese was ok. It was not what I was expecting. Their board said jalapeño grilled cheese. It was a jalapeño popper grilled cheese. If I would have known it was that, I would have ordered something else. So a little misleading. Was not really expecting cream cheese with jalapeños on grilled rye. I was expecting a nice cheese pull grilled cheese with maybe grilled jalapeños on it. So my meal was a let down. My wife's meal was good. She had the stache burger and was very happy with it. The appetizer was good to. My second time, and just as good, I'll drive miles out of the way to come back! The potato pancakes were perfect; crisp outside, hot inside, enough sour cream and chives to enhance without overwhelming, really a meal by themselves. The Reuben Dip was recommended and did not disappoint. Perfectly toasted rye bread (I don't know where they get the butter but the taste came through and I need more of THAT in my life!) accompanied a deconstructed Reuben filling which was a deliciously balanced combination of corned beef, kraut, sauce and melty swiss, yum! Best burger in town! I couldn't believe how good my cheeseburger was! They even cooked it rare! If you like rare beef, you know how hard it is to find a place that does it right, if they're even willing to try. And the chicken tenders? Phenomenal. Moist and delicious. I've never had chicken like this! I've never had potatoes cakes before, but they were delightful, with a smooth almost chewy consistency. Their corn muffins are wonderful. Take caution with some of their more unusual fare, like the mac and cheese and the pork nachos; not as good as they sound, but maybe you will like those quirks. Also, salads are light on lettuce.
