Black Bear Bakery — Restaurant in Chisholm

It’s a very nice little addition and I love having a bakery in town. I was just there and pointed at the powdered Bismarcks and asked what they had in them. The gal said she had lemon and something else, but I have always gotten the powdered lemon donuts at super one in Hibbing and love them so much I didn’t hear the other ones she mentioned. I also enquired about the cheesecake and asked if it was pumpkin because I had read that on Facebook. She said she thought it was just cheesecake so I purchased one of those too. When I got home I found a frosted lemon donut and I really don’t like frosting. :( also, the cheesecake turned out to be pumpkin. I would have preferred plain cheesecake. Still doesn’t seem to be a very large selection and I’m wondering about lunches. Will there be pasties, oh I really really hope so. Anyway, I’ll be sure to pay closer attention next time I go there, and there will definitely be a next time. Thank you for opening, so nice to have. Food was very well done and neatly plated but the building is a little small for dining in. However, it can be done and we did. All 5 of us. The price was slightly high but I would pay it again. The service is very lacked and I'm personally ok with that to an extent. It could have been a little more professional. They had workers going in and out of the kitchen, talking and people coming in from outside into the back then leaving. Now remember how small this building is so it was somewhat more noticable than other places. I would have preferred to see all that out the back door if possible. After nearly two years since it closed. I was so excited to see how the new owners had updated this space. The did a great job. Very clean and modern. Less of a bakery feel and more of a coffee shop vibe. I was disappointed with their selection of drinks. Mainly they offer Kefir, Kombucha, Sparkling Ice, or coffee. Would have like to have seen bottled water, milk, or juice options for myself and the school aged kids. The line was long but moved steadily.
