Domino's Pizza — Restaurant in Christiansburg

I promise you this is a completely true story. I never order delivery, this is maybe the second time I've ever done so. I ordered their Honolulu Hawaiian with extra cheese, sans red peppers, for delivery. Literally EIGHT MINUTES AFTER I PLACED MY ORDER, the delivery driver is at my door with my pizza!! According to Google Maps, the Dominos is 8 minutes from my house!! And the order was exactly correct (and tasted fantastic)!! I am seriously not exaggerating in the least! This may well be the most profound spiritual experience of my life. I don't mean to get all religious with my review, but atheists no longer have any ground to stand on. I'm not claiming you should expect the same experience (after all, miracles are rare by definition), but I am compelled to share, bewildered as I am! The driver gave some explanation about how they can see my order while it's still in my cart and start preparing it blah blah blah, but it feels much more like an encounter with the divine to move space and time on my behalf to give me an out-of-this-world...

I placed an order, and the app said it would be 30 minutes, so I timed my arrival based on that. When I got there, my order was not ready and when I asked why I was then told they were prioritizing delivery orders, because they were very busy. (I’m not sure what the logic is for that over just doing first come first serve. Maybe because they get a delivery fee, and they want to keep the drivers happy?)

They said my pizza would be at least 30 minutes before they would put it in the oven. I looked around at the restaurant full of miserable customers who had obviously been waiting for way too long and immediately canceled my order.

I don’t think that it’s right that this manager is wasting the time of pickup customers and obviously messing up the estimated pickup times by prioritizing deliveries...

Usually an excellent location. The only mistake they have made in the past was immediately corrected with an added piece of apology cake. Tonight they seemed very confused and after a mistake on the order, I placed a second order to correct it. The tracker app said it was being made and in the oven and after waiting at the store for half an hour I found out the order had actually not even been started. When I asked what was going on they said I could cancel my order so I did. I'm now home with the original order cold and without the other pizza and wings. I hope this is an event that won't be repeated and that this store is better prepared and provides better service in the future as they have in the past. Before tonight, this would have been without question a 5...
