Magic Wand Restaurant — Restaurant in Churubusco

To me, The Magic Wand was a tucked away hidden gem, IN PLAINSIGHT. I drive down 33 thru Churubusco every day and I did’t notice it for the longest time. Then one day while doing work in the area I decided to give the ol’ test.

WOOO WEEEE am I glad I tried it that day, Ive been coming back ever since. Super Nice and Super Helpful staff, great prices for the deliciousness you are receiving, awesome deserts, and clean facilities, this place is a slice of heaven and if you haven tried it yet, you are missing out.

Of course, my review would not be complete if I did not include my personal recommendation, and of course, that would be The Magic Burger Basket, its do die for. Or as my dad says while stuffing his face: “Pretty Dam Good!”

Red Flag: I did notice the cooks not wearing gloves, to me thats not the end of the world, I trust they at least wash their hands, I hope, lol. But I know some people would frown upon seeing that, so that is one thing I would think about if I was The Magic Wand, other than that A+, you guys are...

Their chili cheese fries are delicious! Never had their ice cream but I've heard it is pretty good. Their burgers are decent - it seems like they toast the buns, so they've got a nice crispness to them. The magic burger sauce is good, but it usually isn't spread out ove the whole burger - both times I've had it, only about half the sandwich had the sauce. It's akin to a big mac sauce but better, so it's a shame the burger never seems to have it spread correctly.

Hotdogs were... not good. They tasted like cheapo hotdogs and that they were boiled. There's so many good ways to cook a hotdog, so it's a shame they put little effort into it. Rally's has better hotdogs that are just $1. I might be biased though as I am from Chicago and have had many really good chicago...

I love the magic wand. I'm 31, but I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. I used to draw the pictures with crayons they give you as a kid and then they would hang out up in their windows. I'm still going there. The food is great. It really is. Service had always been great. You can find the owner in there sometimes. He loves the place you can tell. It's just a great place all around. Great for kids. The only reason I put a 4-star on the atmosphere is because of all the clowns they have everywhere. I think it adds to it, but I know some people don't like clowns. I come here at least once a month.
