Papa's Place Churubusco — Restaurant in Churubusco

First time at this place and I was mortified with how they conduct business. We can in around 7pm. We were the ONLY people in there. We strictly went for the salad bar. We sit down and order drinks and the waitress tells us they are closing early (for no reason) and if we want the salad bar to get a plate. Our entire table got ONE plate of salad before they tore it apart, and to make it worse charged us full price.

3 of our orders were messed up. While that’s not a big deal asking for the correct order was. They were rude about how THEY made a mistake.

The waitresses were having a heated soft spoken conversation about us being there when they were going to close (early, with no warning) and the vibe was terrible. We still even got charged full price for our meals that were incorrect.

$70 bill later and we left hungry, with cold messed up food and no apology or even the slightest care in the world.

I personally will never eat here again. Worst...

This is one of the best "hole in the wall" places we have been to! We go about once a week! We travel here from Auburn. Doesnt take too long, worth the drive! Service isn't always 100% but on the average, we have zero issues! The pizza, the "not normal style" breadsticks....salad bar.... we love it all! Some of these negative reviews on here might be based off of one time of trying this place, or maybe just on a bad day. If you had a bad experience, please try them again. Im guessing the next experience will be great for you! I can't speak on behalf of the delivery, as we don't use that service.... we always drive and dine in... but it's great. Excellent food! Try the sausage roll but be aware, they are huge!!!! I'm a large man, I couldn't finish a 'baby' sized sausage roll. I sure made a priority to finish it later, though, let me tell you! First time I've been in an Italian restaurant and the clear proprietor comes out, puts his hand on my shoulder, and says 'I'm very sorry, we made a mistake with your order and are remaking it right now. Here's the wrong one for now, and we'll bring you correct one to take home.' And the food is AMAZING. And the service is STELLAR. The salad bar is quite impressive, too, my wife loved it.
