R D's Burgers — Restaurant in Cibolo

On the last night of a recent visit to the area, we decided to try a mom and pop restaurant for dinnerz and I'm glad we stopped at RD's!

Didn't expect much, as we had been pretty disappointed with most stuff we had come across, but I'm disappointed we didn't come here sooner!

We all got the basic burger meals, and when they got brought to the table, all of our jaws dropped. The patties were absolutely GIGANTIC, the portion of fries was great, and all that for a ridiculously cheap price. It cost me something like

When rating restaurants, there are 3 criteria. Food, Service and Cleanliness (Google has it as Atmosphere) So if all 3 are as expected, or par for the course, I will rate the restaurant 4 Stars. If one of them is below, the other 2 need to be above to pick up the slack. That is my standard. I used to own and operate a Chick-fil-A restaurant so,trust me,I know what I am talking about.

I hadn't heard about this place but I was in the area and put in "Burgers near me" on Google Maps and got to work. This place had good ratings and reviews so I decided that we'd try it. Man and I glad we did! I actually didn't have high hopes when we pulled up at 12:30 and the place wasn't that busy. Then we went in and it did not have a great atmosphere, just kind of as plain as you can get. However, the girl at the register where we placed our order was very friendly and personable, not merely an order taker. Actually happy to answer my questions. Then added personality to the interaction. Great job!

The star here though was the burger! Excellent!!! The bread was unique, the beef was not something that was once frozen, the veggies were fresh. Fries and onion rings both great (the onion rings were not made in house but that's ok)

Came here the other day for lunch with some coworkers because the place we wanted to go to was closed. Let me tell you, I’m so glad we found this place, the food was delicious.

This is a no frills, mom & pop burger joint. I just had a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños — you can customize the burger just about however you want it. They have a plethora of addons. The meal I chose came with a side of fries/tots/onion rings, and a drink. It was like $8 or something.

Let me tell you, the burger was good. Sort of reminded me—in the best way possible—of burgers you got as a kid at a bowling alley. But the star was the tater tots. I thought I had made a mistake because a friend ordered onion rings and they looked perfect. But I soon learned the tots were perfection as well. Perfectly cooked so they were crispy on the outside with warm potato goodness on the inside. My friend said the onion rings were also good.

Lots of workers and locals came in during our visit. Plenty of inside seating and a couple of benches outdoors.
