Quebec Gardens — Restaurant in Cincinnati

WE NEEDED THIS PLACE ON THE WESTSIDE!!!

Story time: I placed an order for pickup online, super easy. The pick up time was virtually no time at all. Got home and found out I didn’t get my veggie egg roll with the sweet and sour pork combo. Usually I’d just let it go, because it’s been my experience that the egg rolls around here aren’t great anyway. BUT since this was my first time I called and told them I was missing the egg roll, so could I come back and pick it up. He said sure and, I popped over, and the guy handed me a bag and nonchalantly says there’s extra. SWEET!! Got home and extra means EXTRA! Not only did I get some extra egg rolls, they were delicious, crispy, and fresh! I swear it tasted like they make them in house and they may!

Ordered Veggie lo mein which was delish and had lots of veggies and green onion, the sweet and sour pork was nice, I liked all the veggies and pineapple pieces and the sauce wasn’t too sweet but I will prob go for the chicken or shrimp next time. Also ordered a veggie delight with a side of fried rice, which was fresh and soft with just a little egg, so nice! Better than that fried hard and dark crap which is sooo common around here. Having my hot and sour soup today for lunch but it looks packed with good stuff.

Things I appreciate: nothing was over sauced and the sauces were light and not salty. They offer a lot of traditional Chinese cooked fair which I’m excited to explore soon. Nothing tasted old or over cooked, veggies especially. Great value for money. I love the amazing historical building (back in the day it used to be a famous beer garden) and it so nice that it is being used again.

This, my friends, is not the cheap junk you can get everywhere. If you live in Cincinnati, it’s a must, come and taste...

Dinner here began with a bowl of Hot & Sour Soup. Tofu, tree ear, and other ingredients in a steaming chicken broth. The three entrees appeared at once. Sweet & Sour Shrimp with pineapple, green pepper & onion. Pepper Steak came dressed in a delightful sauce reminiscent of Oyster Sauce & a slight sugar., covering the green peppers, onions & steak.. The Spicy Green Beans did not disappoint! Two of us ordered white rice to accompany, always the better choice, seeing as the fried rice was not the same as the entrée Fried Rice. Food was great! Huge menu and great prices. Very friendly service. Building looks like it is still a work in progress, I am hoping for the best for this place! The location is a little challenging so I am hoping the word gets out how good the food is.

I see there are some people that aren’t thrilled about the fried rice. As a side, it’s just that. Fried rice. There are fried rice entrees on the menu that have other things mixed in. When it’s served with the meal, it’s just plain fried rice. It is definitely better quality than other Chinese restaurants though, it’s not that weird yellow fried rice that...
