I want to give a no star rating. Today at the Rally's at 4115 glenway avenue #1 #1 Cincinnati, Ohio 45205, I had the assistant GM literally call the cops on me because she was refusing to serve me and I was more than content to sit there and wait until she would. It wasn't about a mask or me doing anything other than try to order a sundae.
A little bit of background, this Rally's closes at 10pm on Sundays. Multiple times in the last six months I've gone to this location during business hours to order a sundae. Every time before today it was within the last hour of them closing and I've been denied a sundae because their, "machine was broken down for cleaning". Which I've worked in restaurants enough to know things occasionally get turned off early or cleaned just before end of day to make getting out the door at the end of the night faster.
Today I arrived to their store at approximately 6:45pm and the same assistant general manager who has denied me a sundae in the past again said their machine was broke down to be cleaned. She's also told in the past this happens on Wednesday and Sundays. This time was well before close so I asked how long it would take to get put back together, she said it wouldn't be back up today. When I asked why they broke it down so early then she said they had multiple people walk out because they got stimulus money so it's just her and one other person. Which I know sucks for the people left working because I know what that feels like. I've worked in restaurants and been there when you don't have a crew. I've opened an entire restaurant for business by myself because I was that short on people. I asked how long it would take them to put it back together because I still didn't mind waiting. The manager said even if she were to put it back together the machine it would, "take two hours to fill". So I asked if I came back in a couple hours if I could order a sundae then and she said no she wouldn't put it back together I could come back tomorrow at 10am.
To that I said I do not want to come back tomorrow I just want to be served today and didn't mind sitting there until she would. She then called Cincinnati police (three units showed up which felt like a lot) to whom when I explained the situation said if she doesn't want to serve me she doesn't have to that I had to leave and get my ice cream elsewhere or I would be, "criminal trespassing" despite me having full intention to give them my business and not be trespassing.
I didn't want to be charged with trespassing so I left, but I feel like that's the worst customer service I've ever experienced for just trying to order a menu item that should be available during business hours. It ultimately boils down to a manager that would rather call the cops on me than do the job they're paid for.
Filed a complaint with corporate but the store is a franchise and when I asked the franchisee's name the manager refused to tell me so I doubt anything will come from it. Filing the complaints in the past about the machine being broken down early didn't do anything as evidenced by this experience. Truly awful of ordeal when all I wanted...
Read moreThis was my first time going to a Rally's since I lived in FL 13 years ago and it is the absolute worst thing I've ever seen walking in. I'll ignore the lobby area looking absolutely disgusting because the behavior of the two women on shift was worse. I walked in and they were both making jabs at each other, and both were going up to the drive through windows like they were both attempting to work, then one says the other is not doing anything and they proceed to fight in the kitchen, right behind the gentleman who is cooking. He had limited movement because they were right behind him screaming, but after a few minutes I, the customer, attempted to get them to stop fighting by saying "look, this window is open, you can hear me." and much to my surprise, the two women continued to ignore all 3 windows that had people waiting (not including the long drive through line) and the COOK came to the window to check on me (wiggling past the fighting women in his way) to see if I was picking up an order. Then the two women who were at the windows went out back to continue arguing with each other. You don't have to like each other or even the job, but so long as you choose to work there, you need to set aside those differences and focus on the work. The gentleman was running lobby, drive through, and the kitchen all on his own during a lunch rush. That's super not cool. You can't afford to give him the raise he deserves, and he can certainly add "focused", "customer driven", "self motivated", "determined", and "works well under pressure" to his resume. His skillset and talent is well above the toxic work environment I saw today. I am absolutely outraged. Where was the shift leader to break up that fight? Sending one of the girls home would have been better than both of them not working. I will not be going again, and I truly hope that man is job searching because he deserves so much more. His actions demonstrated skills required in more challenging jobs that pay more and are beyond what should be necessary...
Read moreOk so here's my review on this particular Rally's on Glenway Ave in Price Hill. My family and I recently moved to Cincinnati (Westside) from Kentucky (where there is MAYBE one Rallys in Hebron) So we were excited when we found out there was a rallys close to where we live in Cincinnati. The few times that we have visited this Rally's branch: #1 HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The Drive Thru Speaker Does Not Work resulting in having our order taken at the drive thru window. #2 Cashier makes customers feel RUSHED, Manager was rude and totally unprofessional when I asked for my food to be made a certain way and still got my order wrong. I asked for a refund or some type of reimbursement and she got upset and hung up on me. The few times that we did go to this branch, They put cheese and veggies on my burger that I AM ALLERGIC TO!! 3 TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED!! #3 They take pre-made (old food..NOT FRESH) And give it to customers as if it were freshly made. People work hard for their money and want FRESH/CORRECTLY MADE MEALS!! unfortunately the staff does not comprehend that. I am VERY unhappy with this branch and will NEVER spend my money...
