Garbage!!! I'm a 64 yo Mexican born well travelled guy in Mexico and US. I know Mexican food and tacos very well. I heard of the prime meat tacos concept and waited eagerly until after soft opening to come and try their food. The worst and most horrible disappointment ever! Ordered 1 regular taco and a "prime" steak one at a higher price. Also ordered two other asada items on the menu. ALL the meat was dry and looked and tasted as if it sat under the hot bulb for a couple of days...in the same pan or whatever. No difference between the 2 tacos in texture or flavor (both dry super brown, old and flavorless) Went to counter, was told no mgr on duty. Told to take food to cook bar. I did and was served the same garbage as before. I started to get talk back from the main cook as he seemed insulted when I asked him how could he serve this stuff because it can't be called carne asada much less higher end steak! ANY street taco vendor would serve better fresher cooked tacos and other food. They were playing super loud hard rock music obviously for the benefit of the young "hip" staff at the registers and not the clientele so it was hard to have a conversation with staff at register counters. I seldom write a bad review but I really felt this place truly merited it. Staff, horrible, atmosphere, terrible. Food: horrendous tasteless old garbage!! There was one young lady who understood perfectly what was going on and tried to make it better as best she could which seemed the only saving grace in this place. This, I initially thought, was a great concept but whoever came up with it seemed completely absent and never bothered to train the staff, registers as well as the kitchen, much less being there to oversee quality of food specially on opening. Truly a horrendous disappointment as far as the food but much more so the staff. Do yourself a favor and head out to ANY one of the many taco trucks or taco stands or other restsurants, of which there are so many in the area, and you will get way way much decent and better food and prices...and way better treatment...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLiterally just came from here and had a horrible experience. Seen this place all over social media so I came to try it out. Ordered the torta and burrito both sirloin. Received my food and started to eat it before I realized the guacamole was missing. So I went to let them know and they gave me a side of avocado sauce. š¤ So I tried my luck with the burrito upon eating the burrito it had rice in it and I ordered it without rice. I went back and let the lady know and they gave me a new burrito, but this time when I got to the table to eat it it was asada and not sirloin. My girlfriend went back to explain this to them and the lady at the counter was questioning my girlfriend on how she knew it wasn't sirloin. Then the workers started talking in Spanish amongst each until my girlfriend told them she knows Spanish then they shut up.I thought the tora was fire thought so idk. Avocado sauce is what they have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot 5 tacos. 2 cabeza, 1 tripas, 1 lengua and 1 al pastor.
Pros: The tacos were loaded with meat. They put guacamole on the tacos for no extra charge, but at the same time it was $2.99 per taco. Tacos were slightly larger than a typical street taco. Their green sauce had nice flavor.
Cons: The cabeza and lengua lack flavor. Both seemed as if they were just boiled. Tripas was fried way too long, overly crunchy imo. Goyo charges an extra $0.35 for lengua and tripas. The way they blocked off the parking lot is very weird. Wasnāt a problem as it wasnāt busy, if it were busy, it would be a problem for sure.
Would I go back? Maybe to get asada fries. Itās also conveniently off of the 60 and Azusa, so on my way home if traffic is bad. Will give it another try and update. Could be opening week jitters.
6/14/24 Tried it again, much better than the first week. Meat actually had flavor. Comparable to the...
