Fried Fish Shack — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Very rude employees. My husband and I walked in and a lady walked in behind us (for context I will say our races, we are black and the lady behind us was white.) No one greeted us. They asked the lady behind us for her order. Another couple came in (white) and they asked them for their order before us. Mind you, all of us ordered from doordash. My husband finally speaks up and says “Do you have an order for (says my name)?” the lady working at the desk said “oh your food been ready!” in a nasty, rude tone. I said “well we just came at the time doordash told us our food would be ready.” again, she responds “yeah and? your food been ready!” and throws the bags at us. geez. Thanks? Completely messed up our order. Food was cold and nasty. I immediately got nauseous from eating just 1 bite. Floor was sticky, flies were everywhere, and the smell in that place was INSANELY SMELLY! even for it to be a fish joint. Just an overall bad experience. I will never, EVER order...

HADDOCK FRIED FISH WITH FRIES: FISH WAS GOOD. HOWEVER, I WOULD HAVE LIKED FISH TO BE COOKED A "SECOND TIME, JUST SLIGHTLY", SO THAT THE UNDERSIDE SKIN OF FISH WOULD BE MORE CRISPY. I ALSO THINK PUTTING FISH DIRECTLY ON TOP OF FRIES, MAKES THE FISH'S UNDERSIDE SKIN BECOME "SOGGY - LIKE". THEN FRIES BECOME SOMEWHAT SOOGY AS WELL, DUE TO FISH SITTING DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THEM. I'D LIKE IT BETTER IF FISH & FRIES WERE SIDE BY WITH FOIL "WALL-LIKE" BETWEEN THEM. OR FOR FRIES BEING IN A SEPARATE CONTAINER. I REALLY DIDN'T LIKE LETTUCE GARNISH INSIDE WITH THE FISH AND CHIPS... AS A SUGGESTION: MAYBE THE LETTUCE GARNISH CAN BE AN OPTIONAL PART OF THAT DISH. I KNOW SOME LIKE LETTUCE ON THEIR FISH SANDWHICH AND MAY WANT TO HAVE THIS DISH AND THE LETTUCE GARNISH TO MAKE THEIR OWN SANDWICH. IT HOWEVER WAS A TURN OFF FOR ME, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE LETTUCE GARNISH DIDN'T LOOK VERY CLEAN. JUST TRYING TO GIVE AN HONEST...

We wanted to try something new and it was a Friday so we went looking for a fish fry and found Fried Fish Shack. WOW! We had the daily special which was Swai and fries. The fish was breaded so my son was a bit hesitant as he prefers battered. Surprise! He loved it. It was flaky and delicious and the breading was perfect. I also ordered a side of hush puppies. At first I was underwealmed that you only get 5 little hushpuppies for the price, until I tasted them. Ok, I could have made a meal of them as they are some of the best hushpuppies I have ever had. The seasoning was awesome and stuck with you in a good way. Overall I am really happy we found this place! They have so many different types of fish we will have to go back and try them all as well as all of their sides. I certainly like the way they prepare them. Service is great too,...
