Gourmet Hots — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I ordered food through doordash, but had to come to google for a review. I ordered a mango-strawberry smoothie, cajun fries(light seasoning), and the chicken over rice. The chicken over rice was flavorful, but room temp, it had clearly been sitting. The "smoothie" was more like a slushie. It was mostly melted by the time it arrived, which wasn't a problem, but it had barely any fruit, and was a heart attack in a cup. I decided to save it and add it to my morning smoothie, but when I went to mix it, large bubbles with a weird film formed on top, so I poured it out. It was a complete waste of money, 10/10 would not order again. Now, my fries is what really made me upset. I ordered cajun fries, and asked for light seasoning, because cajun seasoning is known to have high salt content, and they were for a kid. When i opened the fry box, I knew someone either didn't read instructions, or was being an a**hole with the amount of seasoning on the fries, on top the fact that they too, were room temp. Now, I'm aware that some food may need to be reheated depending on restaurant distance and their foot traffic, but I was located a legit 3 minutes from the restaurant, so there was no excuse. I actually thought that it might have been a bad night, but according to the rest of the reviews, this is how this establishment normally operates. I will not be ordering here again. This is one place I will never order from again. I ordered the one dish Rochester is famous for, a Garbage plate and it lacked the main ingredient, meat hot sauce. This is by far an unforgivable mistake especially considering I also ordered extra meat hot sauce on the side that I did not receive. I ordered extra meat and did not receive any as well, the meat that was on the plate was "chewily" undercooked which in my eyes is RAW! The tater tots were oily and mildly overcooked. I literally threw $36 in the trash it was such a waste. Upon calling the restaurant for a replacement or refund I was passed around employee to employee pretending to be management and once i did speak to management he assured me i would be refunded which after calling GrubHub several times for them to confirm the refund with him he actively denied his consent to refund me. GrubHub had to override his decision based on picture evidence. So on top of not being able to eat my meal being diabetic, I experienced some of the worse, headache provoking customer service I have ever had the displeasure to be a part of... If i could rate 0 stars i would! Never order from here, trust me, you may end up losing...

Been ordering from Gourmet Hots for 8 months now through Uber Eats. The food is always amazing. They’re garbage plates are one of the best in Rochester and service has always been decent.

Until the other day... I ordered two plates as per usual and when the food was dropped off all that was in the bag was 12 buffalo wings... when I called the restaurant they were very rude. At first the man on the phone tried telling me “we don’t do Uber eats” which is hilarious because we’ve ordered from 20 times through Uber. When I told him that he claimed that the Uber driver took the wrong order. I asked if they would send the right order and he said that they ran out of garbage plate supplies and decided to send wings instead.

What? A simple call would have sufficed to cancel the order. This was handled awfully and I had to get a refund from Uber.
