I’ve been up in Rochester on a business trip for work. One of my favorite types of food is American Chinese. Of course, there’s numerous options of where to go, and after trying a few different ones, New China lands #1 for me. The prices are fair, the food is never a disappointment, and they’re super nice to me in there. Sometimes I DoorDash the food, or I’ll go pick it up; I’ve never had a problem with either experience. The pork lo mein is so good, the egg rolls are super crispy, and I love the fried wantons. Will continue to order from here as long as I’m up here!

Food was perfect, I asked for my food to be fried and made a certain way and they followed instructions perfectly. Would definitely reorder & recommend any day.

Ordered mixed vegetable stir fry (comes with tofu?!) asked for no tofu. It was heavily mixed into my mixed vegetables anyway.

It was our first time trying New China, and it was not good. I’m pretty tolerant of food that isn’t prepared ‘perfectly,’ and I’m also understanding enough to believe that a restaurant deserves a second chance if there’s plenty of room for improvement from my first experience. That said, I ordered what I generally consider a ‘safe’ choice of any Americanized Chinese restaurant: Sweet and sour chicken.

The portion of chicken was generous, as there was plenty left over. The vegetable fried rice was fine, and pretty standard, but no complaints. The veggie egg rolls were overdone (dark brown to very dark brown) and tough to bite into. My biggest disappointment, however, was the chicken; while it LOOKED appetizing in its crispy, golden brown exterior, it was dry, stringy, and too hard to chew. I actually threw a lot of it to my dogs. The taste wasn’t bad (as there wasn’t much taste), but the texture was unacceptable and ruined it for me. Under the nicely golden browned crisped batter, the chicken was clearly of VERY low quality. It was pretty gross to think that it was just the last scraps left over from whatever chicken was used earlier in the day/evening. The very small to tiny pieces of chicken hinted at the quality of the chicken. Typically, quality, plump chicken usually results in larger and plumper pieces of chicken.

I may try it again. Maybe I will wait until football season, and order it again after a Sunday of football and being buzzed enough to...

Never ever going to this location again! Went there to order food for my grandma. Never been there before so when I was given a price I thought nothing of it. I was getting it for her. I was told 36. Thought it was high but the food wasn’t for me so I paid and left. A hour or two later my grandma realizes they over charged her and called me to let me know the bill was actually 22. I get sent a photo of the receipt and agree to call for her and let them know they over charge me but over ten dollars. The manager literally screamed at me calling me. She also was telling me my story was a lie because I came to get it not my grandma. WELL OBVIOUSLY I WAS GETTING IT FOR HER. She refused to hear me out and kept yelling about how she was busy and didn’t have the time. I will never go here again. ENJOY the money your business...

A friend and I stopped in on 02/19/17 after 8pm that evening I ordered a quart of shrimp fried rice and 2 shrimp egg rolls I don't remember what my friend ordered but any way when I arrived home I notice my rice was sticky and yellow as if boiled too much I thought clearly it was supposed to be stir fried but,I guess they don't do that there I tried eating it any way but it barely had any shrimp in it after 2 bites I couldn't eat it no longer . Picking up 1 of my egg rolls I soon had a mouthful of cabbage I open them up and it contain two med size shrimp in each one and loads of cabbage. I called the young man in charge the following day the same person that took my order and prepared it I explained all this to him and all I got was attitude. I will never go back to NEW CHINA...
