Pi's 1 Lounge — Restaurant in City of Rochester

April 28 2024 was my first time at this establishment. When I first walked in the music was playing & I started dancing.. The DJ was awesome & greeted me..that was the highlight but after that it wasn’t good.. The bartenders were not friendly at all. Everytime I politely asked a question, I was treated like I was bothering them. Then I was waiting patiently for a cup of water. I literally waited over 20 mins when another couple came up to the bar & was serviced before me, which made me having to wait even longer.. I didn’t say anything because I already know what’s the deal here. However it was wrong. Then after serving them I was asked what I needed. I literally went up to that bar several times but from the first drink ordering it was awful. Also I found out about food ordering so I went over to order & asked about the process & was treated badly. I couldn’t even hear what the guy was saying.. I said I’m from out of town & never been here before. He spoke to me from a long distance knowing I couldn’t hear from the music in background. So I finally said can I order 6 wings, & how do I pay, who do I pay, I also asked how long of wait but didn’t get anywhere. So I walked away without knowing if I would be getting an order or not. I decided after an hour to go back again & try again. So at this point he put stuff in a container & I found out it was mine & he said $15 I believe but I told him I ordered only 6 but I was like it’s ok I’ll pay for them all but let me count them, so he said u don’t believe me, I was like I just wanna make sure. But on the other hand to myself I said, not to him.,like why would I believe anything after what took place about the whole process in the first place. Throughout all of what happened I refused to let anyone ruin my night. I haven’t been in Rochester in over 7 years, but born & raised here. Definitely not what I expected or needed to experience here at...

If you are looking for a place with great food low drink prices that is safe and fun and provides a true Urban African American Club experience: something you usually cannot find, this is it. I have been there several times and loved it every time. It is a mature club that plays all the best funk and soul music from the classics with a live DJ. Oh and He will play whatever you want. I always tip when requesting songs. Tonight I was there for a private party instead of the usual and wow it was amazing. From what I discovered this place has been locally owned and managed for years by the same family. Not sure how to say this or even if it is politically correct but here is my summery of PIs. Since I am Caucasian i say this from my prospective and hope not to offend. Do you want the best African American food ( soul food ) they got it. Do want to feel safe and be accepted no matter what race creed or color you are, THEY GOT IT. If you want to experience a real African American club scene, THEY GOT IT.

My suggestion to anybody white or black next time you want to get together with some friends for a wonderful dance night with a true Urban...
