Went to Rizzis for the first time to celebrate two birthdays and a belated Mother's Day on May 14, 2022. The experience left a lot to be desired as did the food and drink. Unfortunately, we will not be back. From the start the waitress took 20 minutes or more to even come to our table to greet us and take a drink order. Then another at least 20-30 minutes for her to return, frazzled and told us she was new to take our dinner order which we hadn't gotten our drinks yet. The bartender brought them over as she was asking for our order. She asked us if we knew the specials..um how would we know you haven't told us yet? Our two drinks were horrible, one moscow mule was watered down, could not even taste any alcohol and the coke was a glass chock full of ice and a tad of coke. You could tell by looking at it it was watered down...tasted awful and no carbonation. We get our food and let me tell you, none of the meals could compensate for the awful experience so far. Veal Parm, the veal was so tough it couldn't be cut with the butter knife, and no steak knife was provided, the sauce was thin and watery as the plate had a small puddle of water in it. The Chicken Guida - very small chicken breast stuffed with cornbread stuffing left a lot to be desired accompanied with overcooked peapods and a side of angel hair. The Fettucini Christopher plate was drowning in mediocre alfredo sauce with small, round chunks of pale chicken and overcooked broccoli. This was my dish and I had maybe four bites. Once again took forever for the waitress to come back and clear our plates. It seems as if we had been forgotten several times throughout the evening by the waitress and it was not busy. We were charged 3 dollars more than the menu said for the Veal Parmigiana and also charged for salad dressings. Our drinks, two club sodas, two watered down cokes and one Moscow mule came to $19 alone! The total bill was over a hundred dollars before tip!! Huge...
Read moreI will start by saying it was a delicious meal and very fair price for the quality and I will be ordering again, however last week I was slightly displeased as I called in my order, was told it would be 1hr wait. No big deal as good food is worth waiting for. I showed up 1hr and some change later to pick up my order, and when I arrived I was told it would be just a couple more minutes. Not a big deal and totally understandable. However where my disappointment came is when I was akwardly standing their in the lobby/bar waiting while the presumed hostess was too busy arguing with some door dash driver who was also waiting a while for his food (again it happens) and schmoozing with the regulars at the bar and more or less completely ignored me with no update how much longer it would be while I stood there for 45+ minutes only to be told in a passing rush "all door dash orders will be coming up soon" where I replied "I called in my order direct" and here face went white as she turned around and grabbed a bagged up order I seen brought out 25 min prior and sat on the counter getting cold. Now I will say she did offer me a drink in compensation but I politely declined as a simple sorry would have sufficed. Again I understand as have worked in restaurants in both front and back of the house in my past, and have seen it all but maybe just use this be a little more proactive is making sure all your guests are taking care of instead of just your regulars. I will also say I did make sure to still leave a tip as as the end of the day I will be back and understand everyone has an off night or instance. Myself being a manager of a small business would want someone to let me know if it happened at my store as these are critical times and everyone needs to be on their A game especially as we start to fully open back up as a state after the...
Read moreRizzis is a true gem, if you visit I believe you will agree. We arrived for dinner on a beautiful Fall evening and took advantage of their quaint patio. It was a very attractive setting for a nice dinner on a Friday evening. Our server was very professional, which is uncommon these days, and she delivered first class service. The menu is loaded with pleasing offerings and the prices are quite reasonable. We decided on an appetizer of Artichoke Hearts and they were delicious. They have a decent selection of wines too. For our entrees we went with the stuffed flounder and the Veal French. We were both pleased with our selections and agreed they were perfectly prepared and delicious. We appreciated that the owner took the time to stop by our table and ask us how everything was, that is a mark of caring about your customers. We left feeling very satisfied with our decision to dine at Rizzis and agreed we will return. I highly recommend this fine establishment, it has everything going for it: quality service, delicious food, reasonable prices, and a...
