Tryon City Tavern — Restaurant in City of Rochester

We came here as a family to celebrate a Birthday. The Birthday girl said some place that has burgers, sandwiches - that sort of thing. Many places are not open on Sundays but they are!

We came into a very welcoming towny bar feel. This is the kind of place I personally love. We spoke to the bartender who gave us menus and told us to sit anywhere and just order with him.

We sat at the table, figured out what we wanted, and ordered. If this place was super busy this may have been a pain but today it was no problem.

2 orders of boneless wings for the girls - one BBQ and one mild, a Caprese grilled chicken sandwich, a Feeling Saucy breaded chicken sandwich with country sweet, and a mushroom swiss burger.

My wife said the country sweet chicken sandwich was the best she's ever had, and it was very large. The Caprese was also spoken highly of with the chicken being mentioned as very well cooked and not dry at all. The boneless wings were plentiful and the girls both enjoyed them. The mushroom swiss burger was very good. I enjoy mushrooms but no one else in the family does so it was a treat for me.

The fries were crispy and well cooked. Everyone enjoyed them.

This is my type of place and the bartender Joseph checked on us a few times to make sure we were all set. He was a nice guy and took good care of us.

I would return without question. I'd have a beer and try something else on the menu, maybe a fish...

We love it here- my husband and I love supporting this neighborhood gem. The entire staff we love to pieces, Ben, Eric, Kathy are such wonderful people. And they are dang good at their job, juggling drinks, handling a busy crowd, being so attentive and making you feel welcome.

Food is such an outstanding element that sets TCT apart. Great every single time. Excellent prices. Area is clean and patrons are always super nice. I often come here solo on the way home from work for a quick bite and drink and they always make me feel right at home.

I am not incentivized in any way for this sparkling review. I’m just chilling at home on a Friday night and I had takeout from them earlier so I guess they were top of mind. Their Fish Fry is HUGE btw…. You...

I guess we went on an “off” night because our experience wasn’t worth 5 stars. The place is small, cozy, but the lights are too bright and the music very, very LOUD. Atmosphere is not conducive at all for a quick or leisurely family dinner. The bartender was our server, and while it wasn’t crowded at 6pm on a Saturday, she seemed a bit overwhelmed by serving bar patrons and meal patrons at the same time. The food was good, and we especially enjoyed the beer cheese and soft pretzels app. Beer selection was also good, but again, the slow service made our dinner agonizingly drawn out. We did enjoy the burgers, but found the homemade chips lacking in taste. We will try it again and next time will wear earplugs. Good for date night, but...
