Slipped and fell on my lower back and bottom in front of the store today on a patch of ice. Absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of empathy or acknowledgment from this place
I personally did not order food from here. I was picking up 2 orders for a 3rd Party App to be delivered. It's been rather cold that last couple of days here. I got out of my vehicle and walked close to the building. My feat slipped on ice, falling pretty hard on my bottom and lower back. A couple of fingers were numb but felt fine. Got inside and tried to tell the girl working behind the counter what happened. I'm not sure if she understood at all what I was telling her. There was no response to it. I hope It was truly that she couldn't hear me or understand because otherwise they could have cared less. I tried to pick up 2 orders, one in which was already picked up, and the other lady insisted I call and cancel through support. In which i did. I worked a few more hours doing approximately 4 deliveries for other stores, got home, and settled into my favorite recliner, and the dullness starts setting in. Progressively hurting a little more as minutes have passed by. My back feels like it's on fire right now. I'm mad and p/o that the business seemed to not give one iota that someone fell in front of...
Read moreOrdered takeout from a spot located in a dive barâwhich, honestly, seemed kind of cool at first. But when I got there, I noticed something odd: no smell of food cooking. Red flag number one.
I headed to the back where the ârestaurantâ part was, and the vibe was off. Everyone in the kitchen was just sitting there, stone-faced, staring at me like Iâd wandered into a secret society meeting. My order was the only one, yet they still made me show proof on my phone to confirm it was me. Weird.
Despite the strange energy, I decided to give it a shotâmainly because it looked like someoneâs Jamaican grandma had made the food, and whoâs saying no to that?
When I got home, though, the food was⊠fine. Not great, not terrible, just aggressively average. The chicken was okay but obviously had been sitting under heat lamps or in a warmer for hours without being stirred or loved. The rice? Mid. The cabbage? Also mid. The beef patty was dry and thin with little filling.
Itâs the kind of place where you can tell the foodâs only as good as how much effort the cooks feel like putting in that day. Some days itâs probably amazing; other days, itâs got the potential to make you poop your pants. So, would I go back? Maaaaybe? But only if Iâm feeling adventurousâand not wearing...
Read moređ„†A little slice of heaven...This is literally THE BEST jerk chicken I have EVER had...and I've had a lot of jerk chicken. I love coming here to get a huge loaded plate of (of course) the jerk chicken, cabbage&beans&rice on the side of course, to eat on-the-go and have leftovers for home later. The empanadas/beef patty are tasty too-unlike most places. They taste home-made. I have heard the oxtails are good too, I've yet to try them personally.
The area is a bit sketchy, yet SO worth it to order food here for take-out. You can eat inside at one of their couple tables, they keep it cute and clean in there. They do deliver on doordash as well.
Grab one of their little pistachio ice-cream sticks while you're there, and maybe an extra little jar of jerk to bring home for other things. A dollop of that stuff makes the world go round in my book đ my secret to the best chicken soup and chili.
If you want real food, honest, simple, delicious... You need to come get their jerk chicken! I will drive out of my way...
