The classic. Will always cherish the memories of coming here with my dad. Glad the new owners are keeping the tradition alive. Wish it was open more than twice a week but delighted that it's still going at all. Can't believe how much food you get and how cheap it still remains. If you're from Utica and have never been you're missing out on a quintessential part of Utican food culture and history. Everything served family style. Simple dishes, everything fresh and delicious. Just like if you were to go into your Italian grandma's kitchen on Sunday. Long hots, meatballs, mushroom stew. It's all good. Make sure you order enough for leftovers.

Excellent food done like your grandma used to make!! Real ingredients, no shortcuts, amazing flavor like it was in the 1950s !! The roasted sweet and Long hots are my favorite side, with the Soft Italian bread and grated cheese!!! Love their bracciole, all homemade ingredients, the meatballs are very flavorful . The spaghetti and red sauce is the star of the show!! I dont like mushrooms but their stew is not overwhelmed with them. I definitely don't do tripe. That is too old school for my Italian taste!! What more authentic Utica experience can you ask for? The food at Joe's beats any high class establishment, anywhere else - hands down. Prices are very fair, and your table will be overflowing, just look at any pic of this place, "not enough food" has NEVER been a thing here. The atmosphere could never be replicated.
