Amazing chef, Matt Grabski, from Joey’s 307 on Mohawk Street in Utica, proved to be an excellent choice for a caterer for my step-daughter’s beautiful wedding this weekend! My step-daughter is a chicken parm connoisseur, so she selected it for one of her wedding meal buffet entrées, and Matt’s chicken parm received outstanding reviews!! He also provided a bountiful grazing table with a wide variety of choices, a marvelous chicken marsala entree, a delicious Italian sausage with peppers and onions entree, pasta with a choice of two delightful sauces (a red sauce or an Alfredo sauce), a beautiful vegetable medley, a fresh and crisp tossed salad, and tasty Italian dinner rolls. As if this was not perfect enough, he also prepared spectacular mini cannolis in a variety of flavors, which complimented the coffee bar he supplied. In addition, we had family members with food allergies and Matt was also able to make accommodations for them as well! Matt’s professional demeanor and well organized business practices made working with him a breeze! Thank you, Matt, for making a memorable meal for the wedding!! And we thank you and your wonderful wife for your attention to detail and for providing it all at a price we could afford! I strongly recommend that you book Matt Grabski for your next catered event - the feast he will provide will exceed all of your...
Read moreMy mom and I went to Joeys for lunch today 5/15/18. The building was small but could easily fit 60-65 people, only 4 parking spots out front. Nice simple decor, very clean bathrooms! The waitress was very pleasant and the service was great throughout. The bread they served was light and airy and delicious. The eggplant parm that my mother ordered was delicious, she said it was seasoned well, and the marinara....she could eat plain, it was so good. I ordered homemade cavatelli pasta with marinara, and a meatball. Here’s where the chef ruined the dish... when you take the cooked pasta out of the hot water, you want to shake the water off the pasta, you want to shake it off really good. Because when you add marinara sauce to water soaked pasta, it has a slight vomit taste. I used some of my mother’s marinara and it tasted better. When I heated up the leftovers the extra water had evaporated and the pasta and sauce tasted a lot better. The meatballs were amazing, not overly seasoned, and not fatty, which was refreshing. I am not writing this place off just because of soaked pasta, it definitely has a lot of positives, and deserves...
