My husband and I were looking forward to picking up dinner here on our way through Clanton because the Pita in Madison, AL is one of our favorite places. We were disgusted by our experience here for a multitude of reasons. First, we placed a pick up order in advance so we could get back on the road quickly. We arrived at our pick up time but we still had to wait over 15 minutes past pick up time to receive our food. There were three employees working, but only one person ACTUALLY working. The other two were sipping their drinks, talking, and ignoring their jobs. One employee was BAREFOOT handling raw meat. When our food did come out it was wrong. We ordered a full size chicken bowl and shrimp bowl, paid over $30 and received small bowls with half the amount of food as their regular bowls and completely over-saturated in sauce. It was clear the single employee handling food did not know what they were doing. Our pita bread was also cold with solid clumps of butter and raw garlic—obviously no attempt was made to warm them up for us. We opened this meal on the road and couldn’t return our food by this time. We are utterly...
Read moreI would like to start by saying Yogi is a total blessing to this establishment and made our visit the best in years. We used to come regularly when they first opened up and as hands have changed over time over the business and workers have come and gone, the quality became low and the service was terrible. However, we decided to try them again today and from the beginning, Yogi had a smile on his face. He greeted us, took our orders, gave us mints and made us laugh while our food was being prepared, and made every bit of it fresh. I got the 3 mini pita deal and every one I had was delicious and pretty looking plated too. The Greek fries were fantastic with plenty of sauce and feta cheese. The cheese rolls were delicious too and super crispy and hot. I have been here so many times since they opened in what, 2018? But this might be the best experience I have ever had, and I will absolutely be...
Read moreNot a good experience. My husband and I were the first and only customers when they opened. I asked the woman at the register (who seemed to be working alone) what she recommended. She said, “I don’t know, I don’t eat the stuff.” We ordered and when she brought out our food, the order was wrong. When I questioned her, she argued. I finally told her, “Fine, I will just eat fries that you charged me $7.95 for instead of a gyro with the upgraded greek fries. Why would I pay that for just fries?” The customer service was very poor. My husband offered me part of his sandwich which tasted great. Later she brought me a gyro and said nothing as she put it on the table. It was very apparent she is a disgruntled employee that doesn’t like her job. Additionally, the water did not work in the bathroom. This little restaurant has a lot of potential but not with this type of...
