Atmosphere – 4 out of 5 This local Italian restaurant is housed in what looks like a historic building, giving it an old-school, vintage charm. The interior features wooden floors, high ceilings, and unique character throughout. There’s both indoor and some outdoor seating available.
One of the standout features is the bar area, which is stylish yet cozy. The bar front is adorned with ornate metallic designs that give it a vintage, almost Victorian vibe. Crystal chandeliers hang overhead, adding a bit of elegance, while warm lighting and seasonal touches make it feel welcoming. It’s the kind of bar that really adds to the overall charm of the place.
Service – 3 out of 5 Our waiter was fine—nothing bad, just didn’t stand out. He got the job done, but there wasn’t anything particularly memorable or engaging about the service. It was average, not great, not terrible.
Food – 3 out of 5 I ordered the Giovanni sandwich, an Italian-style sandwich with hot peppers, sauce, and cheese, served with what appeared to be homemade chips. The sandwich was okay—not bad, just not anything that wowed me.
We also tried the grilled chicken salad, which included fries in the salad. Unfortunately, this one was a letdown. The chicken was a bit bland and came out cold, and the fries were sparse—only about four or five total. For the price, it felt underwhelming. I’ve definitely had better grilled chicken salads elsewhere.
They do have a broader menu with pizzas, appetizers, and more Italian dishes, so maybe there’s better luck with those. But based on what we had, the food was just average.
Overall – 3 out of 5 If half-stars were an option, I’d probably give this place a 3.5. The atmosphere and bar are impressive and give the restaurant a lot of character. But the food and service just didn’t fully deliver this time. Maybe it was an off day—I’d be open to giving it another shot...
Read moreThe worst experience ever ! The food was not fresh, cooked all the way and nor was it flavored in any way at all. It was my first experience here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming here . The service was awful and it was blamed on short staffing. While that’s the running course in Clarksburg still unacceptable. The prices on the online menu are wrong and it hasn’t been corrected in months . The menu in house the prices were raised . I paid $14 dollars for a half spoon of pasta and a drizzle of sauce and water at the bottoms of it . Very disappointed. While the “manager” came to attest how it was fresh and then asked if I’d want food to go, gift cards or the check to be taken care of - I refused any . As she needed to hear honesty about their food . I paid as any other customer should in these scenarios. She seemed unbothered by it being a horrible experience for a first time customer . Paying for a meal doesn’t change the opinion and/or experience . The hoagie that was ordered was over baked , filled with a half pound of cheese and no meatballs and so very little spaghetti. Over charging people for mediocre food, that could of been heated up from frozen is horrible restaurant business . Just be aware of these mishaps when coming here as it seems it’s more of a drink/bar...
Read moreDisgusting place to dine, dirty environment with outdated decor and an awful smell, we believe was coming from the carpet. The food was mediocre bar food at best. Anyone giving the food and place a good review was to drunk to realize where they were at or what they were eating. The pasta was bland, very bland. Ordered garlic and mushroom pasta. Canned mushrooms, no garlic drenched in oil. Burnt garlic toast, and I mean it was black. Ordered the steak sandwich. Again tasteless and barley any "steak" on the bun. I'm pretty sure it was frozen steakums from the freezer section at your local grocer. And some dirty man had a nylon bag stashed behind our table against the wall, we were sitting there and this guy comes out of a back door and totally invades our table to get something from his bag, and leaves the bag there. Maybe the drunk dirty owners son? ?? Reminded us of the old crazy guy that lived in the closet in the 80s movie Real Genius. If you like canned food, pasta from a box and frozen steakums then this place is for you. Otherwise avoid this place at all cost. Save your hard earned money for something that actually resembles food. Oh yea, the wait was very very long. Min 45 minutes. Good luck and bring your...
