The wife and I wanted to try out this location being it is newer and has good reviews. Boy, were we wrong. Quite a few dirty tables from previous guests with a lot of employees just walking around. A red-haired girl looked at a younger black girl and had her go clean off a table. The red-haired girl then looked at us and said she will have a clean table for you. Well, I should say I got on to her and made her clean one for you all. It was a very unnecessary comment, she could have easily cleaned off a table as well, she wasn’t doing anything.
We were seated the table mats were dirty, no one attempted to clean them. I ordered soda water, and the wife ordered sweet tea. I asked about deep fried sushi rolls, the server did not know the difference between a deep-fried roll and a tempura roll. I asked if I want a special roll deep fried, can it be? She said well there is a language barrier but I can ask which roll are you wanting. I said it was just a general question.
The wife and I both ordered chicken ramen.I got the fire and ice add yellowtail menu states it is lightly fried. The wife ordered the old king roll menu states Deep fried.
Drinks came, my soda water was flat. I told the server there is no carbonation. I ask for a coke zero. She says they have itn brings me one and gets me another soda water. Again, the same thing. No carbonation. The coke zero didnt taste right and was flat. Believe it was diet coke.
I looked at the bar and see the glasses hanging above the bar. They looked hazy. I ask my wife to look to make sure my eyes aren’t playing tricks. She confirmed that they are nasty and need cleaning. Maybe the "manager" could do something besides walking around and bad-mouthing workers to customers.
The ramen came out. I took a bite of a brownish stalk thing in it and immediately spit it out.It was disgusting. I inquired about them and told they were fish cake. I googled it and Nope she was wrong. Confirmed our server doesn’t know the menu or what items are on it. I cleaned them out of my bowl. It was very bland and 100% can make better ramen at my home. The wife agreed and asked for salt and pepper. She ate maybe half of hers.
The sushi rolls came out, another server just dropped them off. We didn’t know which one was which. I got my servers attention and asked. Also, there was no wasabi or ginger with them and no soy sauce. She brought some out. I ate my 1st piece and looked at my wife. The breading is panko crumbs, and the roll was so bland, and nasty. I ate 2 pieces and quit. The wife ate one piece of hers and said nope nasty.
The server came by, and I explained the ramen again to her and the issue with the sushi rolls. And stated that it was the worst sushi rool I have ever tasted. She said oh. You want to speak to the manager. I asked, the red hair girl. She replied yes. I stated, absolutely not. She is your only manager. She replied well our assistant manager. I replied that is your all’s problem you need a real manager. From her look I believe she agreed. I asked for my bill. Now this is when I believed something would have been taken off the bill as we were 100% dissatisified. NOPE, the bill was $76.92 and charged for it all. Well hey since, I am paying for these rolls I need a to-go box. Server stated she was going to pass on our experience to the owner. Publix has better sushi and maruchan top ramen is better. We had high hopes. What a let down.

👀 First Impressions Ambiance & Decor: Very fancy! They clearly put effort into the design—modern yet cozy, with great lighting and stylish finishes. Perfect for a date night or small group dinner.
Seating & Comfort: The chairs and booths were surprisingly comfy, and the spacing between tables was decent.
Noise Level: We arrived around 6:30PM, and it was pleasantly busy—conversations were lively but not overwhelming. The background music volume was just right.
🍜 Food & Drinks 🍽 Dishes We Tried: Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen ($15) – Rich, creamy prok-broth with tender pork belly. Noodles had the perfect chew. ✔️ A must-order! Gyuniku Ramen ($16) – Creamy pork-based broth, rich with tender marinated beef. Noodles had a perfect chew. ✔️ A must-order! Gyu Hire Yakitori ($9) – Unfortunately, this was undercooked and lacked seasoning. Needed more flavoring and marinade. ❌ Skip this. Wagyu Samurai Sushi ($22) – Absolute highlight! Melt-in-your-mouth wagyu with a delicious sear, the crunchy shrimp tempura with the fried scallions! Worth the splurge. ✔️ A must-order! Fried Calamari ($10) – Crispy but tiny portion for the price. Felt more like an sample. ❌ Skip this
🍷 Beverages: Sweet Tea ($3.25) – A bit bland. Would’ve helped if they provided sugar packets for adjustment.
🤵♀️ Service Staff: Our waitress, Madi, was super sweet and attentive. She checked on us regularly and kept the vibe friendly. However, she struggled with menu knowledge (couldn’t explain/know some dishes or ingredients). Better training would help! Wait Time: No complaints here! Food arrived quickly, and drinks were refilled promptly.
💸 Value for Money Worth It: Both ramens and Wagyu Samurai sushi justified their prices with quality and taste. Not Worth It: Fried calamari (too skimpy) and yakitori (undercooked). Sweet Tea needs a flavor boost for $3.25.
👍👎 Highlights & Lowlights ✔ What We Loved: Amazing Wagyu Samurai and Gyuniku & Tonkotsu Ramen. Fancy Restaurant—great for Instagram or a nice night out. Friendly, quick service.
❌ What Needs Work: Inconsistent dishes (yakitori was a letdown). Portion sizes (calamari felt like a snack). Staff should know the menu better.
🏆 Final Verdict Would I return? Yes—but selectively. I’d come back for the ramen and wagyu but skip the smaller dishes. Best for: Date nights, small groups, or if you’re craving high-quality ramen and sushi.
📊 Rating Breakdown: Food:⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (Good, but inconsistency holds it back) Service: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (Friendly but needs more training) Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (Stylish and inviting) Value: ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (Hit-or-miss depending...
Read moreI have never left a review like this before, but I feel compelled to share a recent experience at Akita in Clarksville, TN. While the wait staff were absolutely amazing, attentive, friendly, and professional; The behavior of the manager/owner toward her employees was absolutely unacceptable and distressing to witness.
This was not my first time witnessing the way she spoke to her staff, I’m just sorry it took me so long to say something.
What I observed: A staff member at the bar was spoken to in a belittling and demeaning manner, in front of me. (I was wearing headphones so she probably thought I couldn’t hear her.) The tone was sharp and degrading, rather than supportive or constructive. There was no visible attempt to acknowledge the staffer’s hard work or offer help, guidance, or solutions in the moment. The Owner/Manger standing around doing absolutely nothing except berating her staff.
Impact: This type of management style creates a tense environment for the team and can undermine morale and service quality. It left me uncomfortable, angry, and disgusted. It detracting from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience.
On the bright side: The wait staff behind the front line clearly cares about their guests and their craft, and their professionalism did not go unnoticed.
{A note to that manager in pink} The way you spoke to that poor girl was absolutely disgusting! No one deserves to be spoken to like that. You’re probably the reason you can’t keep staffed restaurant. I have been coming to the restaurant since day one. From here on out, the second I see your face, I’m walking away.
Suggestions for others planning to visit: If you value supportive leadership and a positive team dynamic, you may want to observe how management interacts with staff during your visit.
I hope the management will reflect on this feedback and consider more constructive, respectful ways to guide their team. The staff deserve to be treated with dignity, and guests deserve a consistently...
