Stopped in on our way from Tyler, TX to Broken Bow, OK and WOW—so glad we found this place! The staff/owners treated us like family, even making special lemonade for our kids and sending them on their way with a candy bag for the road. We had the ribs, brisket, sausage, coleslaw, beans and THE BEST potato salad I’ve ever had. Everything was hot (not spicy), full of flavor, and delicious. On a scale of 1-10, this place is a 11.8. Way up there on the list of best barbecue ever. When Texas Monthly (or was it D magazine) elevated this restaurant to one of the best in Texas, I was ready to try it. Cozy, no-frills building, with matter-of-fact but warm staff. My friend got the beef plate and enjoyed it, but couldn't finish it for the large amount of food. My sliced pork sandwich was phenomenal: the sauce was tasty but lacked smokiness for my taste, however the pork was some of the best cooked I've ever had.
